We started the season with Nuno, gazing through the interviewer and mouthing 'To dare is to do' repeatedly.

Would you have with El Soupo in charge?

Who’s to say at the beginning of the season it wasn’t going to work? We won the first 3 games if I recall correctly. With son and Kane, We always had a punchers chance of top 4…

Transfermarkt suggests that the net spend this year (ie taking into account receipts for transferred players) is £55m.

So, assuming a similar level of business is done between now and the close of the 22/23 season, it looks like a net £200m is in play. If that’s right, that does give access to some potentially strong signings…

Bad assumption, to buy Romero and Kulu is a big chunk of money. But we can dream!

If you think who's likely to go:

Bergwin
Winks
Sanchez or Rodon
Jack Clarke
Lo Celso
N'Dombele
Cameron Carter-Vickers (Yes, he's still around)
Tanganga?

Could be quite a clear out, that lot alone should also raise about 35 quid

Don't forget that although we've kicked the can down the road with Kulu's loan for another season, we still have to pay for Romero (£31m) and potentially up to £21m for Bentancur (although we have 3 years to pay that).

Surely buying the best young players should be an investment anyway?

Showcase them in the PL and CL and watch a 60M player turn into a 100M one in a couple of years.

We have been let down previously by our scouting team and Levy's tentative approach to the market.
We've mostly always bought unproven young players and developed. And possibly due to terrible scouting, we've had more misses than hits.

Conte won't stand for that, he will want to buy proven winners.

Great that we've got £150m to play with although if you read the fine print, ENIC haven't just given Spurs that money, they've issued shares which has raised ENIC ownership in Spurs by another 1%. Levy and Joe aren't fools.

However assuming we spend it on players and not more real estate, that's a good chunk of change and should be enough to be 3 or 4 decent players.

I'd definitely keep Gil, I think he's a very exciting young prospect, just needs to toughen up a bit to play in the PL.

We still have a lot of deadwood to get rid of as listed previously, hopefully that should raise some more money, assuming we can get rid.

All in all, looking quite promising so far. It's the hope that kills you!

Jack Clarke's been a hit!

Of those you mentioned, I have some time for Rodon and CCV potentially. But they are too good to be 5th / 6th choice

Also Berg is a good player. Great sub weapon.

I don't know, if we actually start to go places, getting 20 games a season at Spurs for good money could be a decent gig for a player like him.

I did a list last night while dozing:

I think your maths is a bit out. hehe

"Under the agreed structure the A Shares can be converted into ordinary shares. The number of ordinary shares granted to ENIC as a result of the capital increase will vary depending on when the A Ordinary Shares are converted, when the warrants are exercised and valuations at the time. If drawn in full, and based on assumptions regarding the above, ENIC’s ownership of the Club could see an increase from its current level of 85.6% to circa 87.5% on conversion. Any dilutive impact is dependent on the number of shares granted and will be shared by all shareholders proportionately and principally by ENIC, the majority shareholder."

150m for 1.9% is closer to 7.8bn than 15bn.

Still a punchy figure.

We will know soon with Chelsea as a benchmark. I reckon 7.8 is at least 2x what we are worth.

Romero is a steal. What a player. I would say over the 20 or so games since his injury he has been running VVD close as the best CB in the league.

And something unfathomable about "solutions". Seemed like a nice guy, but very odd experiment by Levy to stick a geology senior lecturer from a red brick uni in as spurs boss

Not sure why he didn't succeed - geologists tend to be extremely intelligent smart people who can solve problems quickly and efficiently.
