Thoughts on the Kante rumours? I’m on the fence a bit really. Could really do with a player like him but is he a bit past his best now? Or has Tuchel not used him to his best? Might be a good short termer..
Hard pass for me, another Matic situation, right player, far too late

Yeah that’s kind of where I’m at. He’s only be a short term addition but no doubt will command a fair amount of cash a week for someone who’s maybe a year past his best!

Exactly the sort of mistake we’re supposed to be eradicating. Was a superb player, but we missed our shot with him when he left Leicester. We should be building a way to spot players like him before they even join Leicester. He’s not a solution, or the answer to any question, he’d be another sticking plaster on a broken bone.

As above-should have snapped him up from Leicester.
He would have been exactly what we’ve been missing.

Interestingly Laurie Whitwell is saying ETH wants to buy midfielders before any other position to ensure he can spend the money he wants there

We are being mentioned with nearly every mid as a result hehe

Rumours about De Jong not wanting to join as no CL next year. If that’s true, time to pull the offer and move on. If he doesn’t think he’s good enough to help into the CL the following year, then we don’t want him.

A clear out of the dross and bringing in signings that will improve the first team immediately alongside ensuring performances and results on the pitch are visibly improving - Christmas.

Winning the Europa League next season.

A return to the champions league via league position even if the above happens. Again next season

Challenging for the title by his third season. A domestic cup before then wouldn’t hurt.
Is Ronaldo a good fit still given the need for a fresh start? As good as he is/was? It was like Bale returning, although Bale didn’t have half the impact tbh.
We shall see as he appears to be staying.
That would be a mistake IMO, even though he'll probably be your top scorer if he does stay.

No point moulding a team to fit a 38 year old in and putting the guy(s) who might actually win you something in a few years time on the bench.

Why would we be “moulding a team” around him? It is possible to have a player that’s used when when the manager wants and the team is built as a team.

Has Klopp moulded a team around Henderson? Or Salah? Or any player?

The man's an out and out goalscorer, 18 goals when we could barely string a pass together

He'll obviously not be a pressing machine but with a midfield to hopefully make up for that let him get in his positions, create chances and he'll get a hatful

Besides with Cavani going, no Greenwood and Martial likely off we need to buy one striker in amongst all the other players, why buy 2 when he'll give us another 12 months

It depends - either you can go all "scorched earth" and remove anyone who you think doesn't represent the future. Or you can keep anyone who you think is still good enough to help you get back into the top four, and start by addressing the immediate areas of need in the team, with a plan of succession for anyone else not part of the long term future. I suspect ETH will go with the latter and that Ronaldo will be utilised for one more season.

LiVARpool,

fk me, that was a perfectly good goal,
came off a Liverpool defender.

If it’s deflected he’s still offside. Has to be deliberately played to be onside.

Hurts to say it, but it touched Valverde’s foot just after it came off Fabinho. Right decision, but bloody close.

Real seem to be playing the latest Spanish style of just not even trying for the first half.

So, all told, Liverpool won 2 domestic cups, and they should be commended for that, but both finals against Chelsea were goalless, and Chelsea could easily have won both games.
