I stopped listening to that YouTube clip when he said the fact that 30% of goals come from set pieces means set pieces should take up 30% of training time.
That’s full on David Brent.
I watched the clip and I know what you mean, but its it true why not work on it 30% of the time? That’s full on David Brent.
For example, very few goals come from shooting from range, but everyone practices it because (1) it makes you better at shooting generally and (2) the threat of shots from range creates chances.
Rangnick out, Rangnick out…!

I come in peace.
If he is so amazing, he has a career managerial win ratio of 47%, a few trophies but nothing spectacular.
However, everyone seems to be absolutely estatic about him.
Is there a bit of rose tinted glasses going on?
I wonder if he's like a PE Teacher - great at theory and thinking but the doing part, perhaps not so much.

It's a far inferior league in terms of quality compared to the PL.
I wonder if he's a great theorist, hence the respect Klopp etc are paying him but I can't see where he's really executed it for any length of time.
I also wonder why, if he's so good, why was his next big career move in Russia, rather than Spain. Italy or back in Germany.
He also, apart from a few jobs, doesn't spend long in many places.
I think the structural role makes a lot of sense, however I wonder if your owner's got him in to find talent to develop and then sell and make profit rather than develop to stay - after all that's a core of what he did at RB, which was far and away his most 'successful' role and seems to be highly reported but more for the value increase of the club than necessarily the success on the pitch.
Part of me hopes he fails miserably but having had a rudderless club basically doing what you're going through now it's no fun and for the supporters I hope it brings that love of the club back.

.
That’s not a bad thing either..
As we will keep the pick of the talent and re-invest in new players I have no doubt in that. We’ve never really been tight in the transfer windows.
There was an amazing fact that United have had a youth team player they’ve brought through to first team in there squad for over 4000 consecutive games!! That itself is incredible

I'm not so sure. Once you get past Bayern and Dortmund what have you get left in terms of quality in the Bundesliga?

As to why he is where he is ,tbh from what I have read it seems he has turned down many opportunities (Chelsea) being one as his idea is to develop the whole club and not just manage the team .
He may or may not be successful ,but it’s an interesting appointment.

It looks like a sensible option that will get you top 4 or better this season as I genuinely believe you have the squad for that, easily. As to why he is where he is ,tbh from what I have read it seems he has turned down many opportunities (Chelsea) being one as his idea is to develop the whole club and not just manage the team .

What you do need to do is focus on the manager you want and just let this chap get you through the season.

Completely agree with this. I’m excited about what the next 6 months will bring. And then if we get the right manager I’m really looking forward to the next few years. He took Leipzig from the German second division through to being runners up in the bundesliga and semi finals of the champions league ,that’s quite astonishing .
What he did for the Red Bull football teams may well be just be what we need. Read some promising stuff this morning. Sadly an absolute stuffing maybe waiting for us this afternoon before he’s arrived and can affect some change.

I can understand the club’s hierarchy giving Ole time but this is now a significant change in direction for them. It moves the glazers and particularly, Woodward and Arnold further away from footballing decisions which can only be a good thing.
