Looking forward to the game, but won't be seeing it as I refuse to take out another subscription. The fact that a national final does not even have highlights on council telly (that I can find) is a huge mistake in my view. As for the game, probably a cagey affair to start - I'd expect (and hope) Celtic to have too much quality and to prevail. Let's hope no referreeing nonesense though, and spare us from the usual carnage in here.

It being on Viaplay is wrong. The SFA has to rethink the deal as it's bad for the game.

If Celtic play to their potential they'll win. I expect Celtic to be on the front foot most of the game. They'll have to avoid being drawn into giving set plays away as that is where Rangers are stronger.

I hope VAR doesn't carry on like it has and make itself the talking point.

Looks to be warming up in the city going by twitter. Rangers fans laughing because celtic fans "ran away" from getting an assault charge? Causing trouble? What's that about. I see that as a sensible thing to do. The only idiots was the rangers fans wanting to fight. Nobody wants to spend the day in cells or hospital so I applaud the celtic fans for not getting involved in the violence rangers fans are attempting.
Celtic fans were allowed in yesterday to set up there display, Rangers turn today. No reason for the Celtic fans to be there at that time today unless looking for trouble.

Even taking Tavernier’s penalty into account, Rangers have a bit of a mountain to climb now.

As soon as the second goal went in Celtic players downed tools as if the game was over. They let Rangers into the game. At that point Celtic had around 70% of possession and were in total control. Like other games they should chase more goals.

Again Rangers showing their strengths from set plays and got their goal and went chasing an equalizer. Celtic missed another couple of sitters to kill the game off properly. Those chance have to be taken.

I was surprised with the comments about Rangers being the best team and in better form before the game. A real egg on your face moment when you make comments like that then come out with that performance. Rangers were too scared to make a game of it until Celtic switched off.

Really disappointing to hear of the violence before the game. We can't trust fans to observe a minute's silence and this time an applause was drowned out with the singing of the billy boys. Not a good spectacle for our cup final.

But, but they're the best team in Scotland, the mob are miles ahead of them, absolute clown with a stupid name, gave us all the inspiration needed.

I though Dalzo and Honkingdonky would be all over the spoiling if the minutes applause.
I wonder how Dalzo will spin/deflect this?

Celtic are just too good for rangers right now. Its like watching celtic vs Dundee or something. Complete control the entire game. Could've scored 7 and the little team get a we cross in the box and score to make it look closer than it was. How celtic missed those chances at the end. Crazy.

Anyway after a week of rangers telling the world they are the best team, the most inform team.. that rangers can't loose, world champions etc etc celtic just turned up silently and done the job required. Scored 2 then put the slippers on and collected that cup with no hassle.

Get the treble now and that's that. Rangers have nothing left to shout about. Celtic ahead in trophy count. That'll be rangers having to pull down that sign in the trophy room about being the most successful... or just change it to 2nd. After all being the 2nd best isn't to bad when it's against a team as magnificent as celtic.

I think Beale got a lot of his set up wrong today. The starting lineup didn't make sense given how well Raskin has played in previous games and I thought we looked better when the subs were made. Attack wise it was one dimensional. A bit of a cagey game with both teams looking to nullify the other rather than attack and it didn't look like Rangers went to win the game until too late in the day.

Rangers are always one dimensional. That's Beale/Gerrard's tactics. It has been the same rigid style of play for years. Beale signed two players that he claimed were starters and still reverted to the old players.

Rangers tried to nullify Celtic. Celtic had around 70% possession up untill the hour mark, but were facing a packed defence. Tactics that other teams have been criticised for when playing Celtic.

It wasn't the subs that changed the game. Celtic downed tools as soon as the second goal was scored. The drop in energy and effort was clear to see. The game looked over. When Rangers went chasing the game they were open at the back. Celtic missed sitters that should have turned the game into a rout.

Nothing will ever change if Rangers fans keep trying to convince themselves there is nothing between the teams and they are getting to Celtic. It'll be the same players, same tactics and same results going forward. Rangers are stale, but managing to grind results out.

So you belittle other teams for comparison ,remember you need them to blame for lack of competition when you get hosed in Europe…

Better team on the day won so congrats to Celtic.

Beale starting midfield choice was absolutely abysmal, an unfit John lundstram infront of your new signing who has been man of the match in nearly every game he has played in is insane.

Allowed the Celtic midfield to run all over the top of them and was too slow in making the changes required

Didn’t realise he was playing.
I think Beale tried to contain the Celtic midfield and he nearly succeeded but for the 44th minute goal. If he had played the new boys they would have been overwhelmed and probably the game would have been lost by halftime.
If Celtic can hold onto Big Ange then they will get stronger and stronger but that’s a big IF.

Yep, really poor and complete lack of class, but only to be expected from that lot. Not mentioned by many commentators either. Let's just brush it under the carpet again.

I'd be in favour of withdrawing all away tickets from our match on 8/3.

First half looked like the Celtic players were having a cup final hangover. They were really slow and off pace. Far too many basic errors.

St Mirren do have a game plan to frustrate Celtic. There was too many niggly fouls to break up play and the time wasting was excessive. Robinson was encouraging time wasting before 30 minutes. Teams shouldn't be getting only 16/18% of possession and one effort on goal at home.

Taylor was unlucky with the handball, but they have usually been given this season with the exception of one team. Watching English football and they aren't giving penalities out as freely for handball.

The red card was just outside the box. VAR remembered to check that part this week.

Abada was game changing when he came on. He was the biggest difference after such a poor first half performance.

Normal business restored and the customary 5-1 achieved. 250th goal under Ange’s tenure!
