I might be proved wrong come May next year but as a Leeds fan I don't think we'll be in a relegation scrap this season.
Ok, after 11 games I'd like to revise my opinion! We're worse off in terms of points than we were this time last season despite having had an arguably easier set of fixtures than we had in the first 11 games of 2021/22; worse, some of the performances have been truly awful and the table doesn't lie. Therefore, unless things change at Elland Road I now think we're very likely to be in a relegation scrap and could easily end-up back in the Championship next season - at the moment it doesn't look like there are 3 teams in the division who are worse than us.
I'd love to be able to come on here and revise my opinion back again but sadly I'm afraid I have to more confirm my feeling from October. We are most definitely in a relegation scrap and I'll now be very surprised if we manage to survive; really hope I'm wrong but I just don't see where the wins we need to save ourselves are going to come from. I think we stuck with Marsch for too long and are now going to pay the price...

Still think West Ham will go, for the simple reason the board genuinely think that we are on the up and results improving (as stated by Karen Brady)

I think someone should tell them that beating Larnaca doesn't get you PL points...

You're not wrong. 2 3 tough games (Man City, Brighton, Arsenal) next, could easily be very near will be in the zone after those...

Palace are in the worst form in the league. Only 5 points from their last 10 games.

And they effectively have six 6 pointer matches in a row in April playing teams around them in the relegation fight...... starting with home to Leicester, then away to Leeds and Southampton, then home to Everton, then away to Wolves and then home to West Ham.....

Probably the best run-in of games of any of the teams around them......as long as you win some of them of course!!

Seems we're going right under the radar.

Said since last summer, we're going down (thankfully got decent odds on it).

Only way that changes is if Rodgers goes in the next 2 weeks, only chance we have.

I think come last day of the season, GD might be the deciding factor, and you, Leeds and West Ham, at the moment are in the best place as regards that with a 10-15 goal advantage over the other teams.

On that basis, Southampton, Bournemouth, Everton & Forest still look in the most trouble as the point difference between all teams gets so narrow.

Depends on the new manager bounce, something West Ham do not have. I think it is still Southampton West Ham and one other to go. Bournemouth have shown some superb grit of late, they seem to be surging at the right time. Palace will get wins in half those 6 pointers and be ok.

Without wishing to tempt fate, are you sure? They haven't had a shot on target in a month of sundays, Southampton have notched up some decent results as have Bournemouth and Everton, Leeds know where the back of the net is as well.

Good chance of winning their home games. Especially with West Ham with one away win all season.

If it does go down to the last day of the season, its interesting to see the last day match lineup.

These 3 matches could be interesting if its all still tight at the bottom between the current bottom 7 or 8.

Southampton (H to Brentford) and Palace (A at Brighton) both losing tonight.

Struck me that Villa (in 11th with 35 pts) are the only mid table club this season (*). The rest are in the mix for the title, Champions League, Uefa, Uefa conference, or relegation

(*) Ordinarily you might include them in the race for 7th. But given the quality above them and the points gap, I won't smile

Palace lost again, but they're improving as they got their first shot on target in 4 games

I think Palace appointing Hodgson again probably proves that Viera was got rid off for sacking that guy who Parish appointed, and who was then re-appointed after Viera was shown the door (as they clearly didn't have anyone lined up and it was a political decision more than a football one)

A weird (re-)appointment. Leeds fan so I'm eternally optimistic but I think the three will be Southampton, Bournemouth and one of Forest or Everton.

Leicester, Forest and Palace are the 3 worse teams on current form of the bottom 9......

But Palace and Forest still have a small points advantage, but with only 4 points between the 9 teams, that's as good as meaningless now, as we saw from Leeds win, pushing them up 3 or 4 places.

I still think it could be decided on GD come last day of season.

I think Southampton and Bournemouth and then pick anyone from 12th down for the last spot.

Palace vs. LCFC at the weekend, the winner of that stays up the loser goes down?

If we lose I can't see how we can stay up, point is worst case scenario.

Glad I'm out on the piss instead of going, cheers rail strikes!

EDIT: Next weekend sorry, international break.
