I think my comments on Darwin were mostly realistic and in the negative? Am I wrong? I loved his enthusiasm but he was never a reliable striker you could depend on.Would be a risk worth taking IMHO, we've got so much business to do this summer it's untrue.

Why not? Put him on a short term deal (1yr?) with the carrot of a longer deal if he does well, play him on the left in what IMO was his best position and add the pace and physical strength back we lacked last year. However, Iraola isn't an "arm around the shoulder" coach apparently, which Darwin seems to need. And more importantly, there's not even a hint anywhere that LFC are interested.

Not sure he needs an arm around the shoulder as much as the right coaching and style of football. That last season under Klopp looked like a turning point with 33 G/A but he then went backwards once Slot arrived.
As a rotation player who'll run himself into the ground and make things happen I think there could be a real opportunity there even when taking away the emotion from the decision.

No bubbles I'm aware of. I have actually said (several times now) I would love him to come back, if it could work. As a player I liked him a lot, just that he could never be relied on to finish. And Slot clearly gave up on him - as a confidence player, that did him no favours either, so him wanting to go made sense. Getting him in to replace Chiesa who's nailed on to leave it seems, makes all kinds of sense.As a free transfer and rotation option across multiple positions or late sub I'd suggest he would be far less frustrating than when he was the main man with a £65m prIce tag hanging around his neck.

As much as I love Chiesa, Darwin would offer more, as a starter or impact sub.
