Why not both? smile

Have a first XI to win one but requires a solid Slot squad to hope to achieve it. Summer changes will be a good indicator.
I don't think for 1 minute that LFC would focus just on winning the PL for 10 years - naturally they will want to improve the squad in talent and depth so we can go after the CL and other trophies too. I've said a few times I'll be sad to see some players go but excited to see who comes in this Summer. The new regime has now had a full season to scout and decide their priorities so it should be an interesting window.

I'm interested in what they'll do with Robbo. I think he'll be a good guideline of future policy when it comes to players past their peak but still a decent player with experience.

In recent seasons with Klopp at the helm, we've held on to players past their peak - Milner, Henderson spring to mind. An element of sentiment regarding the experience they bring? We've seen how ruthless City are at letting go; not just de Bruyne but Sterling, Silva, Aguero etc.

Given Robbo's high wages and his potential to be a part-time player next season and potentially a new LB coming in, be interesting what the club does.

He made a very funny post about his contract this week:

"I hope all you Liverpool fans can help me with making the same noise around a new contract as you did with Salah & Virgil. Maybe you (Jamie Carragher) can stop linking the club with other left-backs as well!"

He’s got a year left at the end of the season… I’d keep him as I think he’s better than Tamikas, who’d I’d sell. Probably wouldn’t offer him another contract though.

With that scenario, is in a years time we'll be looking for another LB again. Tsimikas is 3 years younger and has provided decent enough cover and possibly on reasonable wages.

Club has to try and get wages to revenue ratio down, especially with latest accounts showing costs are rising. I know, boring....

Tsimikas isn’t very good. And will probably have a higher sell on value.

Full backs have been one of our key strengths over the last 7 or 8 years. If we don’t bring quality in on both sides they will end up being a weakness.

So what are peoples hopes for rest of season?

Mine:

1. Mo breaks a few more records

2. Gomez gets a goal.

3. Chiesa get his 5th appearance to get a medal.

Catching up with Slot's PC from yesterday - does sound like some of the players who haven't been playing as much will get game time in the remaining games.

I like those 3, I especially want. Guess to get a run to actually see how good he is.

Will they play with freedom and capitulate in every game like the last title win?

No injuries.

Play with a little more freedom, the results really don't matter. Along the same thinking a little bit of experimentation, a few youngsters to get some minutes.

Wonder how Plymouth view their season?

Would they give back the FA Cup win to avoid relegation.

Also noticed Luton went down, is that back to back relegations.

Going to be a disjointed performance today with that side, I fear.

Well at least we know that Slot knows what resting players actually means.

Liverpool: Alisson, Endo, Van Dijk, Salah, Jones, Gakpo, Elliott, Jota, Tsimikas, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah.

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Chiesa, Robertson, Bradley

Hopefully we play with a bit of freedom but would prefer it if we didn't down tools and go on a losing streak know it's done and dusted

One day we will find out wtf has gone on with Chiesa.

What does Chiesa need to do to get a start? Surely he’ll be on the phone as soon as he can to his agent looking for a move back to Italy? What was the point in buying him if he can’t even get a start in a completely dead rubber?
