Ali s the best 1v1 keeper I ve seen play for us but he needed to be as we ve tended to play with a very high line throughout his time he s also the best I ve ever seen in the Prem era with the ball at his feet.
I think the best ever to play for us tag is more difficult as different eras required different types of keeper.
Be another departure that hurts, but probably the right time given fitness and wages if he wasn t so injury prone he could probably have played another full contract.
Agree with that. He's the best I've ever seen for us but that really only goes back to Grobbelar for me. I think the best ever to play for us tag is more difficult as different eras required different types of keeper.

Only negative is I can't remember a more injury prone goalie.

Chris Kirkland - could have been great but he was far too fragile for a goalie. But apart from him, I'm struggling to think of one.Only negative is I can't remember a more injury prone goalie.

If Slot is still here, Elliott will be sold, if they can. Or left to twiddle thumbs like Chiesa. They will try and sell him but he won't be going for anything like 35m now.
With a year left on his deal he could dig his heels in and go for a free in summer 27, although after a season with barely any game time at Villa I imagine he's desperate to play so likely not.Getting ridiculous at this point. There's potential for Mo, Robbo, Ali, Curtis, Harvey, Chiesa, Endo, Tsimikas and Gomez to all leave this summer.

Yup, I can't remember a 2-3 year period where so much change has gone on. There's an argument that some aren't good enough and some past their best but either way, replacing so many players in 1 go is terrible squad management. Which started under JK replacing his midfield almost all at once. Mo, Robbo and Ali from the leadership group all going at the same time - who realistically would be stepping in? Szobo? The player who gestures at unhappy fans and goes on social media bragging about his expensive watch and day off? Pfft. Getting ridiculous at this point. There's potential for Mo, Robbo, Ali, Curtis, Harvey, Chiesa, Endo, Tsimikas and Gomez to all leave this summer.
Thanks for the title last season but we really are a mess now, it seems to me. Slot and Hughes seem to be wilfully just dismantling everything JK did. His plan for "structural changes that will serve the club well after I'm gone" has seemingly gone out of the window once he left.
With our squad as it is there is no option but to replace every one who is leaving plus
We then have long term injury to Ekitike
And we never replaced Jota
And we haven't got a right back
Or a defensive midfielder
Hopefully someone will tell me otherwise but our bench looks pretty threadbare so it doesn't feel like there are many whose time has come

Don't worry. As long as the club has a perfect summer in the transfer window, we'll be absolutely fine next season.
This came first hand from the man who says we mostly bossed Chelsea last week, despite the official stats saying how out run we were by the least running team in the PL. And said this morning that negative comments are to be expected - "when you don't win the league". So it's bound to be true.
