The best we can hope for is that they continue to follow the same model that the Liebherr's have used - I'd be much happier with a 50/50 split until the new investor 'proves' themselves but that's a pretty naive viewpoint.

Guess we'll just keep our fingers crossed!

Even more chance of hanging on to VVD now?

The pessimist in me thinks that the new owners might be more inclined to cash in a valuable asset to recoup some of their investment.

It is also interesting that the purchase has switched from the Lander company buying it to a personal purchase by the Gao family.

Is this a loophole in the Financial Fair Play rules, so the legally separate company can generously 'sponsor' the club and not be counted as the owner putting money in?

Three points but fortunate I would say. Must stop leaking goals, especially against 10 men.

I feel we were lucky to get the 3pts today.

BTW there was a chap in a Saints shirt driving away from the game in a TVR Tamora. Anyone from here?

Austin's interview on MOTD made me laugh "I was going to his right for the penalty, but then Noble said Hart knows where you are going, so I put it into the other side."

A rollercoaster of a game and as entertaining a home game as I've seen in a long while.

Good to see MP bringing on both Long & Austin to try for the 3 points - Puel never seemed brave enough to make such substitutions.

We're still a little shy in front of goal but maybe that will change as confidence starts to return to the team.

No idea what was going on with Bertrand yesterday - he looked like he didn't give a stuff.

All in all, an enjoyable game and a much needed 3 points.

And I think I said back in January that relieving WHU of £8m for Fonte was cracking business - his dire performance at SMS yesterday certainly reinforced that opinion.

Welcome to SMS Wesley Hoedt.

Very pleased to get this one over the line before the window shuts.

Reviews from some corners suggesting he has all the ingredients to be a class defender - looking forward to seeing him in action.

And fair play to Les and his press release containing the not-so-subtle jibe to would be suitors and head-turners '..he can develop even further here alongside his international team-mate Virgil van Dijk'. laugh

Hoedt is a good signing and we're creating a good defense again. With Bertrand and VVD as well as Soares, we're back to a good line in front of Fraser. Stephens is still learning but doing well and every time I write Yoshida off, he plays a blinder.

Still worried about scoring enough goals, but a good signing for sure

Losing to Wolves reserves with a decent team put out, is not good enough.

So the powers that be at our beloved club have, in just over a season, turned us into THE most boring team in the league. Good work.

Didn't see the game (out of the UK at the moment) but managed to catch the second half on the radio.

Thought it was a brave and positive decision to bring Long on to assist [the isolated] Gabbiadini for the last 25 minutes or so - great stuff. But then that was all undone not five minutes later when Gabbi gets subbed himself - for JWP.

I really hope that's a one off and not a sign of the way things are to be under the new guy.

Pleased for Yoshida - a contract extension and sounds like he played a very solid game yesterday. Have to give the guy some credit, he's certainly stepped up better than I expected since VvD became 'injured'.

A point's a point and one I'd have probably taken before the game so, overall, not overly disappointed with the result - more so the manner in which it it sounds it was achieved.

I was at the game yesterday and the major difference between the sides was that Huddersfield played as a team !!
Too many of our players not at the races, looking for a move or just not good enough.
Our style of football is not a lot different from last season. To be fair it was not going to be with the players at the new managers disposal.
The lack of movement and pace in midfield is very worrying. Felt sorry for Gabiaddini. No service to him whatsoever !

Thoughts on our transfer window?

We kept key players for once and VVD will need to come back into the team. Keeping Bertrand was key and 1-2 others

I think we needed a striker but finding a 15-20 goal a season striker costs a lot.

Overall not too bad all things considered
