Dallas has been really good so far this season in my humble opinion, it’s just a shame he’s not that little bit quicker as he’s got a great engine.

Same. Thankfully Eddie got the job done, hopefully he will be the difference this year

That thought occurred to me too - "oh dear, another one of those games, lots of skill, 2/3rds possession and naff all to show for it". It all looks like Nketiah could well be exactly what we need to push us over the line this year. I do think that if we had had his skill last year, we'd have had a few more points.

Yes, it was starting to feel like Groundhog Day again but thankfully we managed to get the job done in the end!

I actually don't think Bamford's playing too badly overall but his conversion rate isn't great and Eddie seems to be far more clinical when the chances come along. I know Bielsa likes to stay loyal to his players - which is commendable - but I think it can't be too long before roles are reversed with Nketiah starting and Bamford on the bench....

Just about recovered my composure after the fiasco earlier today!

If we're going to be serious about promotion we just can't keep throwing points away at home; we should had all three against each of Forest, Swansea and Derby but have managed only two from those games combined. This is shades of what cost us last season (i.e. dominating matches but not putting the opposition away) and it comes back to not taking chances; I appreciate Bamford's playing well generally but he's not converting often enough and for me Bielsa now needs to think about giving Nketiah a few starts. His loyalty to Bamford is laudable but it's costing us points IMO.

And can someone show Klich a video of Alan Shearer taking a penalty so he can see how it's done? The nonchalant approach works sometimes but you look an idiot when it doesn't; just decide in advance where you're going to put the ball and commit to it so the keeper has little or no chance even if he guesses correctly which way it's going. Ok, even that method isn't infallible but missing because the keeper's made a great save is easier to accept than what Klich did today!

We've gone and been awarded the Fifa Fair Play award for letting Villa equilise last season.

Great result tonight.

Bamford might not score a lot but he put in a shift, deserved MOM.

If he was even just a bit better at finishing we'd be running clear already.

Agreed on both counts. I've been one of those suggesting Nketiah ought to be getting a few starts in place of Bamford but to be fair to Bamford he put in an excellent performance last night and was certainly our MOM; if only he could convert a higher proportion of the chances that fall his way....

Doesn't excuse the result yesterday but the penalty and Berardi sending off was a nonsense. Even if there was contact Phillips was covering so it should have been only a yellow not a red; however, there was no contact so it wasn't even a foul never mind a penalty and a sending off! Hopefully the red card will be overturned on appeal and frankly their bloke ought to get banned for a game or two for simulation (remember what happened to Bamford following the Villa game last season?). However, I wouldn't put money on either of those things happening and even if it did it wouldn't alter the impact that wrong decision (after only 14 minutes!) had on the game yesterday.

All that said we need to be playing better and not allowing ourselves to be in a position whereby the odd mistake by a referee can cost us....

Either that, or we'll end up as a mysterious unknown Middle Eastern person's tax dodge (or more accurately, a person from somewhere else who is using a Middle Eastern front) and never see a penny of it and end up having to sell all the assets again?

100th anniversary game was a win, I'll take that. Crowd was 35,731

Good to see Eddie get an outing, but yes, we definitely need more oomph.

Another evening of missed chances last night with two more points dropped as a result. I think Bamford's general play has been excellent in some of our recent games but sorry, the principal function of your main striker is to score goals and he just hasn't been doing that often enough. I'm not convinced Nketiah is a better player overall but I do think he's a more effective finisher - time to give him a start or two IMO.
