They've given Skoobs a couple more games. Seems Radz and the 49ers are going to try and hold out until summer, which is a huge gamble.
I think the board's just having to make the best of their own very bad job; they got rid of Marsch without having a successor lined-up but, because of our league position, they're now finding it difficult (impossible?) to attract a good calibre manager to replace him. So it seems they're stuck between either appointing someone who's available - but they're not especially happy with - or continuing with Skubala; providing the performances are half decent the latter is probably the least worst option but it does feel a bit like close your eyes, cross your fingers and pray....
A bit leftfield but under the current circumstances - What about Gus Poyet for an interim role? Currently manages Greece national team but they only have 2 matches between now and the end of the season against Gibraltar and Lithuania. Did a fantastic job for us the first time round and great job when at Brighton.

After a couple of decent performances against Man U, today's display was awful. Just gutless and clueless with little to offer going forward. It's not even as though Everton were good. We were just rubbish. Bamford was awful in particular and, worryingly, his £35m record signing replacement Rutter didn't offer anything either

Mate of mine is a season ticket holder and watches all the away games via one of those streaming services. He's always been relatively optimistic - on the basis the performances have generally been good - but he messaged me after today's match saying it was our worst display of the season and he's now worried. Problem is, Skubala hasn't got the experience to turn it around but who has, is available and is willing to take the job on? Feels to me like we're stuffed and about to throw away everything Bielsa worked so hard to achieve...
Now sounding like it's going to be Javi Gracia as the new manager, at least until the end of the season? I suppose he managed to keep Watford up a few years ago so he does at least have some relevant experience - good luck to him though as on the evidence of Saturday whoever comes in has got a very high mountain to climb....
Gracia confirmed pending a work permit (can't we get him to Leeds sooner since he's on a humanitarian mission?)...
I think thats a good appointment. Remember him from his Watford days and in the current world of most managers coming across as grade A weapons, Gracia should bring an air of calm and quality I reckon. We're not down yet (beat Southampton and we potentially jump back up to 16th) so its hardly as if we're dead and buried. Said before, the squad is good enough, we need a manager who is good enough now and Gracia is that man I think/hope.

I also think he's a decent appointment and being honest he's probably as good as we're going to get given high calibre managers already in jobs are highly unlikely to jump ship mid-season to come to us. I wish him all the best and you're right, the squad should be good enough to stay up and there are more than enough games left to turn things round and keep us in the PL. But if we're going to survive we can't afford many (if any) repeats of the horror show we saw at Goodison Park last weekend...

Problem is, everyone has some grounds to say that. It's going to be a real bunfight this year.We (Everton fan) are largely dogst, and for all our (half) chances that game would have finished 0-0 without a wonder strike from a defender - but I can (in my more hopeful moments) see us grinding out 5 1-0's at home and picking up a few more points elsewhere.
