shame both english teams are going to tangle in the QF. all 3 spanish sides avoided each other too. still 8-4 on aggregate in the league this year. i'd take that again!

Relatively tough draw but there are no easy ones left now.
Should beat them over two legs though especially with the 2nd at home.

Funny to think Utd will probably be cheering us on. Let’s face it they’ve got nothing else to do that night.
Oh, and we could be PL champions by the 2nd leg. Help or hinderance?

Part of the issue for Bayern was that they'd wrap up the league so early on they would lose their competitiveness for the final stages of the CL. You've seen how City play when it doesn't matter (Basel/Shakter). It'll be tough maintaining focus for so long with the only games that matter spread out quite far.

I think they'll edge Liverpool though.

look at the starting XI for those 2 (effectively) dead rubber games. yaya started both games in the middle of the park, and though the legend who took us to silverware almost single handedly sometimes, i think i could play against him and do ok these days! mandala started one, kids blooded, and fringe players given game time.

as it stands, we should have every member of the squad fit for the games, which is remarkable at this point of the season.

One of you isn’t progressing. Love that! biggrin

(The other will get knocked out in the semi’s). The power of positive thought.

I was wondering how close Man City are now to the old Liverpool joke of who is the second best team in Liverpool (it wasn't Everton for those not old enough to remember).

Random City question to settle an argument with the missus

Which managers would have won the league with this City squad except Pep forgetting reputation.

I reckon Klopp, Poch, Conte, Wenger, Mourinho and possibly Dyche and a few junior managers which is hard to call as they’ve never had that nice problem.

Style not relevant, reckon Klopp and Poch and Wenger would have done it in style too, plus some juniors

That’s a bit of a unanswerable question in imo.
“Style” is everything. Peps built this squad in his “style” and his “style” has brought the best out of some very good players already.
I’m obviously not saying Pep is unique but other managers may have been able to get success with the team but their “style” may not have suited,
However, I doubt very much Wenger or Mourinho would have had success. They’d have fked it right up smile

I've just watched the 12 minute Jose interview.....as much as many might not like me saying it but the man does talk sense (some of the time!).

Well, he had a good 30 seconds of sense. The rest was foaming mouthed lunacy.
