I thought Kompany's was a definite red. Sane's was a cynical foul and I think more than a yellow would have been harsh.

It might be wrong but it’s very rare for a player to be sent off within the first minute. Officials like the game to settle.

To be serious, Kompany should have been red carded, Sane, I'm not so sure, but both were stupid, it's not as though we were under any pressure at that time.

You’re kidding right? I’d say Sane’s more of a red than Kompany’s. In the modern game though Kompany’s is a sending off. We’ve seen it numerous times high foot, studs up, red card. Sane’s was nothing other than a deliberate violent kick out at Lowton. That to me is a straight red, dangerous, violent and likely to cause injury.
