It's the same rule for all. The clubs voted to bring it in to help them from themselves, clubs were going to the wall.
Smaller clubs might not ever enjoy getting any silverware, survival alone and fans being able to go and watch a 3pm KO on a Saturday, celebrating and having a whinge and a moan along the way, would be considered a success. Look at Bolton now...
Rules are rules, City gave a big fk you to UEFA and now face the heat. As I say be interested to see how this pans out.
Tbf, it wasn’t a unanimous vote. Unsurprisingly the top teams like Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool and surpringly Chelsea voted for it. Plenty of smaller teams, like City, voted against.Smaller clubs might not ever enjoy getting any silverware, survival alone and fans being able to go and watch a 3pm KO on a Saturday, celebrating and having a whinge and a moan along the way, would be considered a success. Chelsea voted for because they planned to complete their financial doping before FFP came into force, and did m3sye said:

We are City and we lose when we want
PEP looks rattled, even when you were 1 0 upYour defence is not great, teams always get chances to score, all that is happening lately is a few more of them are taking them.
You will drop another 5/6+ points this season
In contrast, when I think back to Liverpool in their hey-day (I'm not a Liverpool fan btw!) it was almost unheard of for them to throw points away like City did last night at Newcastle; they may not always have played their best - no team can do that all the time - but invariably they found a way to win even when by their standards they weren't playing very well. Just not sure City have quite the same resilience and ability to grind out a result.....
