Tbf I think the worst decision was him stopping their break away,
Ref probably could not for cert say It was over and the linesman has a split second to see it ! We have super slow month cams. Sooner goal line technology is in the better

That was the stupidest decision I have seen in a while, 3 on 1 and he is clearly staying up...what was Mike Jones thinking

Mike Jones is, and always will be, a very poor referee. You can almost forgive him missing the goal line controversy because he was let down by his linesman but to then pull Ben Arfa back when Newcastle are three-on-two with the Everton defence is simply unforgiveable.

Can't these officials just wait an extra second or two then make the decision? Its really frustrating... he's just done it again when Everton had come away with the ball.

He blew the whistle thinking he was going down, but instead of enforcing it should have just waved his hands to carry on!!

Glad of the goal I have 2-1 smile

Wonderful tribute before the game from a very classy club.

Much appreciated by us Reds.

I think Gary Neville got this spot on in this post-match analysis last night.

Referee Jones somehow felt he had got it wrong with the goal so he "punishes" Newcastle by pulling play back as they were going through with a great chance of scoring. Officials often say they don't "even things up" but I'm sorry, not sure that I buy that. How often do you see a dodgy free kick give to side A, the side B crowd howl at its award because its plainly not right, then amazingly, side B are awarded a free kick almost straight afterwards.

That was a goal ffs.
Gotta be almost impossible for the linesman to see that though from his position
Well it shouldn't have been a free kick in the first place, the linesman flagged for a throw in so I don't know what the ref saw!

We were ace last night, should've won that by two clear goals and what class we showed in the tribute, very, very proud to be a blue today. Good for Merseyside.

I agree. The toon always give us a game too! Should have had three points but we've had some serious iffy decisions go our way recently so such is life...

The tribute made me so proud to be a blue.
