I wondered weather we turned up today. Spineless and a waste of space the whole lot of them
The weather turned up, you didn’t - how much did BFS get in bonuses for keeping you up - anyone know ?tdm34 said:
Apparently he'll get his full contract pay-off, nice work if you can get it.......
I imagine he would get a 2017/8 bonus for the staying up on top of any comp if he is replaced 1 year into the 2 year contract.Whatever you think of him, he knows how to prey on desperate situations and get very well paid for it
He's probably the best at what he does, so charges accordingly which is a lot less than the potential costs for being relegated.
I'm happy that we finished 8th, but I had hoped he wanted to prove a point that he wasn't all about dour football and grinding out the points. I do hope Moshiri gets the next appointment right, and does it quickly

Seems he is off.
So we replace someone who got us up to 8th and with vast knowledge of the Premier league and English football and propose to replace him with someone who over just about a season was relegated and sacked. All because some people dont like the football that was played in the first salvage season turning round a shapeless, slow, ill-balanced team that were as bad as I have ever seen in Everton shirts.
I hope Silva is as good as some people seem to think he is but I have my doubts and certainly dont believe that Watford started losing because Silva "had his head turned" by Everton. They lost games because they were crap - like we were.
So BFS gets the summer off and can put his feet up until next November when the next call for a lifeboat comes in. Not a bad life I suppose.

Sam...? Is that you Sam?anonymous said:

I'll bite. When people defend the style of football played by Big Sam it comes back to a window at Bolton. But he didn't bring an expansive style of play to Newcastle, West Ham, Sunderland or Blackburn. You can follow the results of a team by looking at the internet after the game has finished but if you are paying £50ish for a ticket I don't think asking for results and entertainment is unreasonable.

I don't think anyone has blamed Sam for poor spending, or said his signings were poor. The jury is still out on Chunk, but Theo has been a good signing and given us an injections of pace that we were sorely lacking. In terms of stats though, we're bottom of the league for shots and shots on target and some of his substitutions have been baffling. He's more than happy to grind out a draw instead of try and chase for a win.
If you look back through this thread and find when Sam was appointed, I was positive about it. I too remember his Bolton days and how they played, and I had hoped he wanted to prove a point after the England debacle with having better players in the squad than he had at Sunderland and Palace. Sadly I was wrong...
Any way, he did what was asked of him and he's been rewarded handsomely for it

Question for one and all (not just Everton fans).. .....
Have we panicked to early? Have we triggered "send for the gimp" (BFS) to early....?
24 games to go, have we sold out our potential for the next three seasons by giving Sam a massively expensive contract....?
SA will see success as avoiding relegation this season, and 10th place next season.
Many clubs have disastourous starts. We've done it, Liverpool did a few years ago, Chelsea and even Man United. None seemed to panic like us. Yes managers were sacked, but these clubs didn't go for the likes of SA.
With 14 games to go in this situation I'd say he was needed. With 24 games to go?
I don't know if we could find a better alternative before the end of January, but I ink we should have had a better plan than this.
I said this the day we signed him and I still feel it’s correct. We went to early. Some might even say that it was David Unsworth that turned the teams morale around before Sam was announced. It was what we needed. And quite frankly our run in at the end of this season was dire too. So he hasn’t fixed anything. Have we panicked to early? Have we triggered "send for the gimp" (BFS) to early....?
