I said this the day we signed him and I still feel it’s correct. We went to early. Some might even say that it was David Unsworth that turned the teams morale around before Sam was announced. It was what we needed. And quite frankly our run in at the end of this season was dire too. So he hasn’t fixed anything.
We were 16th, we'd shipped 9 goals in 4 days and were truly appaling against Southampton. We finished 8th.I'd say he fixed it. But anyway, onwards - looking forward to finishing 7th next season with a brand of sparkling football .....

Seems he is off.
So we replace someone who got us up to 8th and with vast knowledge of the Premier league and English football and propose to replace him with someone who over just about a season was relegated and sacked. All because some people dont like the football that was played in the first salvage season turning round a shapeless, slow, ill-balanced team that were as bad as I have ever seen in Everton shirts.
I hope Silva is as good as some people seem to think he is but I have my doubts and certainly dont believe that Watford started losing because Silva "had his head turned" by Everton. They lost games because they were crap - like we were.
So BFS gets the summer off and can put his feet up until next November when the next call for a lifeboat comes in. Not a bad life I suppose.
Good post. So he’s gone, not because you didn’t finish high enough, but due to the boring footy. Fair enough. If you can bring in Silva and he gets you playing better footy and you finish in the same position, then it will have been worth it for the fans ...So we replace someone who got us up to 8th and with vast knowledge of the Premier league and English football and propose to replace him with someone who over just about a season was relegated and sacked. The top clubs are always going to play expansive, more exciting footy (Utd excepted) because they have the biggest transfer budgets and so the best players ... a club your size needs to be a bit more realistic but if you can break into that top six closed shop all well and good ...

First point. He went because the board know he is not the man to take the club forward.... a club your size needs to be a bit more realistic but if you can break into that top six closed shop all well and good ...
Second Point. Every PL fan needs to believe their club can aspire to the top six, otherwise there is no point

Are Jim white & Big Sam secret lovers or something ?

On a different note, who the fk is Marcel Brands? Our new director of football, whatever that means?
I'm guessing Walsh has gone too then.
He'll pretty much be in charge of signings. He been credited for turning PSV's fortunes around since he arrived.I'm guessing Walsh has gone too then.
Walsh has stepped down, which I assume means he's still at the club in some capacity

I like Silva, let’s hope he’s successful. I’m not a Big SAM fan but he does a job, as he has proved time and time again. But if you finish lower than eighth, then the new guy goes, surely?

Why? It is quite possible it’s one step back before the two steps forward, if a new manager wants to bring in a new style and new players. As long fans see a progression (which may not translate to an immediate impact on the table) they should be patient.Who ever it is I hope it’s someone that wears his heart on his sleeve, gets excited and jubilant when we score and jumps up and down and screams and shouts when we lose.
Not Rafa by definition then I guess.....
Love the way Klopp acts on the touchline. Lives it, breathes it, bleeds and cries it.
