I'm glad its not just me then.. They put 10 past us last season and we haven't beaten them away for 20 years!

They have taken more points off us than any other club. Probs because we've both been in the top flight for as long.

Watching through my fingers no doubt. Score draw is my prediction. That’s optimistic though!

I have said it before and age is irrelevant. DCL, Kenny and Davies all not good enough.

Hilly? No mention of yesterdays game? You ok?

Sounded messy first half and we got lucky in the 2nd. Seems to be about confidence and cracking the midfield.

Hi Hairy I am OK just a bit down at the moment, it’s the first time I have felt like this in 48 years of being a Blue nose. It’s been to many false dawns and just hoping this is going to be different, I think it’s going to take time and I am prepared for that.

The most frustrating thing is the new signings apart from Richarlison and the odd five minutes of Bernard we are as we were. I genuinely think when we get Mina Gomez and Seamus fully fit and gelled we will be strong, but it seems to be taking an age.

Defensively we are still wanting big time. Holgate against the Hammers was walk about, then we played well at the Arse only for the forward line to fire blanks. All I can say is

Hilly, I'm of a similar vintage to you and get your lack of optimism but there are green shoots of recovery. We are playing better logger than the last couple of years, the playing staff is looking less aged/journeyman, we could have started better but saturday was the first time we put out the same side twice in a row. I'm taking the gradual introduction of the new players as a positive, dropping them all in too quick can backfire and make confidence dip when they dont gel. Gomez should firm the midfield up, Mina should make us defend set pieces better and maybe score from the odd one too, and Bernard needs to find the pace of the English game, but is showing really promising signs, Richarlison has started well as has Digne, This season and probably next are one to be patient with. At least I have wanted to go to games again now, back on the season ticket waiting list, i would go to games last year when offered a free ticket under the gravy swilling money sponge. We are going in the right direction.

Chin up Hilly. Could be worse!

Well it may get worse before it gets better, but it wouldn't be Everton if it wasn't a life of frustration.

The building blocks are there Silva just needs the time to get it to gel. Hopefully we wont end up bottom 3 while this happens.

Coyb.

My son in law was a bit fed up last night with his beloved team getting beat by Barcelona, I said ah you got beat by the best club side in possibly the world ,in the best cup in the world, well we get dumped out of the micky mouse cup by a stty team who were struggling, and its a little trophy we would love to do well in. our team clearly not concerned for its PH supporters well being, furious

Tuesday night’s result was not worth a comment. We need players to step up and score goals, we are becoming inept all over the park.

Bernard as got the fans onside with some delightful skill and touches, just like I knew he would, I am convinced when we get the signings in and we gel, sky’s the limit
