Hearing Mbeumo wants to go to Man U
....Has he been heading a lot of balls recently?
Interest from three clubs with European football next year, and one who will pay him £300k+ per week. I thought Arsenal could have pushed for him, but us and Spurs would have had to massively disrupt our wage hierarchy to get him. That is the struggle we face. ....Has he been heading a lot of balls recently?
I think we need to accept that we're probably more in the market for promising players (ala Hall, Tino, Miley etc) rather than big, hyped up names, and have our coaching staff work their magic on them. I'm actually fine with this as I know they can do it, and it may result in (hopefully) a few more purchases to make our squad a bit more resilient.

+1Agree, we seem to have a coaching team who can improve players with high ceilings rather than buying players who have had outlier seasons in terms of stats. Eddie rarely goes with playing new signings straight out of the block anyway so unless we buy significantly better in a position I don't see us coming to the next season with a vastly different side. Our wage structure is probably a factor in these negotiations too.
If he wants more cash than we can offer, and doesn’t mind dipping a toe into the s
tstorm that is manure in the hope it gets better anytime soon, then fair play to him, his choice. He clearly doesn’t want to be with us & in that case his attitude wasn’t right for us either. This assumes we were actually interested of course, by no means a given, especially with Mitchell having just left- maybe he was interested?
I’m sure that Eddie et al will get the right players. They’ve not done badly thus far after all.

Frankly speaking hearing about his wage demands and transfer fee, I am glad we are not signing him.
Mbeumo is not worth £250k/week.
United fan here. We will not be paying Mbeumo 250k a week. We are moving away from paying those kind of wages (excl Bruno) as we have been burnt so many times before. Mbeumo is not worth £250k/week.
We will probably offering more than Newcastle, but not the 250k that is being thrown about on X.
It is quite funny that as soon as it's reported he wants Man U, that all the apparent information get posted from fans saying their club walked away, or didn't want him anyway.

He'll undoubtedly be an upgrade on a good few of last seasons squad.

I think we were definitely interested in him (don't think anyone has said we weren't), but we've certainly not made any offer or even opened a dialogue with player/representative, so the club can't want him that much.TameRacingDriver said:
I really wish manc red fans would stop referring themselves as "United" or the even more cringeworthy "yanited"
I mean there are another 3 United's in the division...
One bugbear of mine is the way Sky refer to us always as Newcastle and not Newcastle United. Newcastle is a city, Newcastle United is the name of the football club.
