I was surprised to read that Isak was on £120k/week.
I would have thought that a player rated at £150m by his club would be on higher wages.
Can anyone think of a bigger wage to value disparity in another top level player?
Thinking about deals that have actually happened - in the bank, so to speak - and not just the somewhat arbitrary value a club puts on a player's head (how would that even be tracked? TransferMarkt? IDK)I would have thought that a player rated at £150m by his club would be on higher wages.
Can anyone think of a bigger wage to value disparity in another top level player?
Wtih a 1 minute Google

Coutinho's deal was eventually worth £142m, and he was on €126k (about £110k) a week
Isak hasn't been sold yet
He was in contract negotiations
He'll be worth whatever he next gets sold for
Coutinho's might be the biggest I can think of - in the bank

A real shame if he does leave as you lot have a history of worshipping your top strikers down the years: Shearer, Supermac, Milburn etc
He has no sense of your history in that sense, obviously. But they re all mercenaries now to a large extent.
It’s certainly a shame, but I think the consensus seems to be swinging towards fans thinking he needs to go. That’s further underlined by the apparent work the club is putting in to sign Sesko and Wissa. He has no sense of your history in that sense, obviously. But they re all mercenaries now to a large extent.

Don t know what s going on with RB Leipzig, but there were reports recently that they d dropped their price for Sesko to 70m. We ve offered 80m and it s too low. Is it a special price for Newcastle? Feels like Palace all over again.
I think we have met the valuation, we may have even gone above it but the way that we are setting up the payments seems to be the sticking point. Maybe we are offering less than what they want as a base and then bonuses on top. Looks like Man Utd are trying to get the player to commit to joining them before even making a bid, probably in a bid to knock us out of a bidding war. We allegedly have given a deadline of 24hrs.
