One of the only clubs with the money to do what this player deserves.
Keep him, don't play him, sue him for breach of contract. Refusing to play when he has a contract to do just that... Might seem spiteful but f
k him and f
k his career. Bench him and off him to Saudi after a year on the bemch with wages withdrawn

I have no problem with him wanting to leave.
I dislike the way he has gone about trying to force it.
I think that's the general consensus. Even if it was true that he'd expressed a desire to leave prior to the window opening, it's not the clubs responsibility to go out and find a suitor, nor are the club obliged to take any offer just because he wants away. He's throwing a hissy fit, but at the end of the day there has been one offer, and it wasn't close to what the club want for him. It's not like we're turning down offer after offer.I dislike the way he has gone about trying to force it.

Indeed. I'm pretty certain we're at a point now where there isn't anyone who doesn't want him to move!
What direct quotes are available from Isak? I want to consider my options? (After being led to believe he’s going to be rewarded for his outstanding rise to prominence, I think he’s a right to feel aggrieved)After that, did he actually refuse to train? Or was he told not to because he was not mentally ready after his announcement?
Has he now stated himself or via his agent that he would never play for NUFC again?
If so, is he behaving badly or is it possible that NUFC have now succeeded in pissing him off so much by blaming him in the press so he’s had enough? NUFC come out of that looking good to their fans.
Did he refuse to train?
I think we can categorically answer that one. There is no evidence of that. However, what we do know is that he chose to travel to Spain to train with his old club without permission from Newcastle or knowledge of his manager, while supposedly injured.
Whilst there he chose to put his house in Newcastle on the market.
He hasn't made a statement publicly, but his actions certainly support what has been leaked to the press.

He walked out of a training session after 5 minutes prior to the pre-season match with Celtic complaining of a thigh problem. According to the club, multiple scans showed nothing. He was subsequently left out of the tour of South East Asia, at which point the news around him wanting to "explore a move" broke. Whilst on tour he travelled to Spain and trained with Real Sociedad, unbeknown to anyone at the club. When the club returned from South Korea, Howe and Isak met at the training ground, and Howe has since revealed he was "very hard to talk to". He's reiterated several times that if he could reintegrate him into the group he would, but he's seemingly had no option but to do exactly the opposite, exiling him.
Although it seems to be widely reported now, I'm not 100% convinced the story this morning can be true. I'm sure there would be some pretty serious legal ramifications if he went through with that threat, and the EPL would get involved. I can't help but thing it would negatively affect his value too. Surely Liverpool would look at him and wonder what they're buying into, particularly having been burnt in the past by the same thing.

Breach of contract? You just said keep him and dont play him ? Keep him, don't play him, sue him for breach of contract. Refusing to play when he has a contract to do just that... Might seem spiteful but f

You either sell , or he gets his contact extended/more money and both sides will claim he's happy now.

k him. Fair point, can't keep him and not pay him I guess, but can surely withhold wages if he is refusing to play? I suppose simply sacking him would be cutting off their noses to spite their face but what a primary Donna. Surely damaged his reputation however this plays out

Good luck to him , onwards and upwards. The same as it's ever been.
You take players from smaller clubs , the bigger clubs take from you.
You are in the 2nd tier of big clubs, so this is the reality

No idea, not even a Newcastle fan, just posting emotionally as ever, I find the players attitude shocking. Refusing to play for the club that made him? Yeah, that would work well in any other job wouldnt it? I'll leave this to those more knowledgeable on the Machivellain machinations of football transfers, but the kid doesn't sound like someone I'd want on my team. Showing the same loyalty as an alley cat....
The club that made him?Anyone would think he's a local lad who's come through the youth setup and is looking to leave on a free..
You bought him, he/s played brilliantly for you leading you to your first trophy in 70 years and has now outgrown the club and wants more from his career than you are able to offer.
It's unfortunate but hardly unusual.
