The poor little lad is out of pain now, a small relief after all he's been through. He never, ever lost his smile at all and these past few months, he has had a whale of a time thanks to some generous, warm hearted people particularly in the world of football.

Jermain Defoe should be honoured somehow for all he did. He's spent the last few months devoted to that little boy and they formed an unbreakable bond together. Hopefully JD will get Sports Personality Of The Year Award at least, he's been a diamond through all of this.

RIP little man.

Statement from Sunderland...

Sunderland AFC said:
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bradley’s parents, Gemma and Carl, his brother Kieran and their family and friends. We extend our love and support to them, now and always.

Bradley captured the hearts and minds of everyone at our club with his indomitable spirit, tremendous courage and beautiful smile, which could light up even the darkest of rooms. Despite battling neuroblastoma for much of his all too short life, he demonstrated a bravery and fortitude beyond his years that humbled us all. He was truly an inspiration.

His heart-warming friendship with players and staff alike epitomised the impact this wonderful little boy had on everyone he met. He had a special relationship with Jermain Defoe and their feelings for each other were evident for all to see. Jermain, naturally, is heartbroken.

Bradley’s story not only touched our club and our fans, but also the wider football community. Football can be a powerful force for good and our sport came together to embrace Bradley’s fight in a unique way. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to every club and fan who supported Bradley in recent months and showed such warmth and kindness to the Lowery’s - we are truly grateful.

Throughout his illness, Bradley’s family and friends have worked tirelessly to increase awareness of this brutal disease. Their fundraising campaign, initially for Bradley’s treatment and subsequently to raise money for the foundation that will bear his name, will ensure that other youngsters and parents facing the devastation of life-threatening illnesses will have the help and support they so desperately need.

Bradley’s passing will have a profound effect on everyone and we understand that people will want to reach out to support the Lowery’s. We would kindly ask on their behalf however, that that they are given the privacy they need as a family at this most unimaginably difficult time. We will continue to support them in whatever way we can.

Sad times. What a lad though, I reckon wherever he is, he's now top striker first pick & knocking in a hat trick every match.

I did not know Bradley but his story has touched a lot of people and nice to see Sunderland really try their best for him. Kudos to Defoe as well who has supported the family and I am sure will continue to do so.
RIP Bradley and thoughts are with your friends and family

Loans and cheapo, bargain basement signings - check
Players sold and money not reinvested - check
Pink seats still not fully replaced - check

Surprised? Not at all

Yep, was looking earlier today at SAFC.com and the BBC for any decent signings, and it's all a bit underwhelming to say the least. All seem to be linked with Grayson in the past, but hey perhaps these are the players that can take the dogfight that is The Championship in their stride.

Mannone has gone and from what I can tell we have a young Polish chap and a Portuguese fella who I've never heard of in goal. So Pickford and Mannone and a fair whack of cash = no decent replacements....

Apparently Lens is playing well in pre-season with a solo goal against Bradford. Then I read an article saying that if any of the players want to leave and the price is right then business will be done....

So potentially the more eyecatching players like Khazri, Lens, N'dong and Kone could be on their way.

At the moment not a lot to look forward to.

Celtic tomorrow night as a pre season friendly.

The lad Stryjek will go out on loan IMO, he's only young. Mika was a last minute Moyes signing, he's fking garbage and make no mistake, never seen a goalie score an OG before until I saw him hehe

We had a lad in on trial for the friendly against Bradford, Robbin Ruitter (spelling?) he did alright IMO and he's free, so I can see him getting the gig, I dunno what was up with Vito when we played St Johnstone, perhaps the move was on his mind, because he was awful - conceded two shameful goals

Celtic game is the 29th, I'm heading down for it, tomorrow night is Shorpe away

I hope that Lens and Khazri stay but I'd be surprised - it looks to me like if there is a few quid being offered for just about anybody they'll be away, I hope that Kone goes, his first (half) season under Big Sam was great when he got up to speed along side Kaboul IMO but last season was a disgrace, he's probably ruined his stock as PL player, Everton were tabling bids in excess of twenty million for him, the club probably wouldn't get half of that now, sadly

Celtic should be a decent enough barometer.

Kone was a monster with Kaboul, then turned into a mouse. His heart simply wasn't in it, hope he bucks his ideas up....if he stays. Agree he's ruined as a PL player.

Mannone always had the self destruct button in his game, so not a massive loss, just there is no real replacement at the mo.

True, I think that Southampton thrashing shot his confidence tbh, I saw him play a few good games but when times were tough he seemed to fall to pieces, like you say, no great loss in the grand scheme - if this Ruitter lad does well I'll be glad to see him on board

That Mika lad needs to go though, he's honestly shocking, he's no goal keeper

Good luck for the season ahead, and thanks for the hospitality, going by today's performance against pretty much our reserves, it's gonna be a tough season ahead for you guys 🍀

Well I read it on another forum so that's the same as that lot
