Word from in the club is they have no interest in Pulis.
I hope they avoid Koeman or Bilic as well.
Don't really know where we go from here, because the rot has well and truly established and unless our self-appointed DoF (aka big-nosed tw*t) is chucked, we will keep making the same mistakes.
Bring back Laudrup, all is forgiven!

Next Swansea City manager search LIVE: Ronald Koeman and Louis van Gaal linked, but Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs rules himself out...

LVG lol! As if!Not surprised Giggs has ruled himself out after being snubbed last time in favour of Bob Bradley.
I suppose do they resign to the fact they are relegated, and look to someone to re-build the squad and look to the future. Or do they get a short-term fix to somehow keep them up.
Issue with the second option is normally they dont get the right players in, struggle the following year again and sack in december. This could be a sunderland mark 2.

A depressing article.
Sheer and utter incompetence.

I'm quite pleased with that.
Sums up last night's 8-1 win against Notts County really... Good? Excellent result. The whole team looked like a tight unit, and they generally played for each other rather than hunting out half chances for themselves. Cracking goals too. And young Daniel James grabbing a goal on his senior debut? If the youth system produces more talent like this it looks good for the future.
Less good? Well it was achieved against a League 2 side. So despite the manner of the performance, it's probably quite a flattering result, and one that will be harder to replicate against Premier League teams stuck in the bottom seven or eight with Swansea. They'll dig in deeper, scrap, and be harder to take apart so comprehensively. Great to see a variety of names on the score sheet, it'll do their confidence no harm whatsoever, but they'll need to step up their game to take points in the league against teams in similar positions.
It's got to be good for player confidence though. I made a comment further up the thread when Carlos Carvalhal was appointed. "So much for Premier League experience" was an observation on the club's insistence that the next manager would have Premier League experience. But looking at it objectively, maybe it's better that he didn't have Premier League management in his recent CV. After all, at the bottom of the league teams are scrapping to avoid relegation, and one could argue that by virtue of them being nailed to the bottom, teams are more akin to Championship sides than PL clubs. All I can do now is hope that Carvalhal can make this recent run of form stick, comfortably manoeuvre the club into relative safety to avoid a 'down to the wire' fight for PL survival right to the last game, and that improvements to the side make it a more appealing place for recruitment and retention of talented players. And cross my fingers and hope that we can keep a manager in place for a full season or two now.
I'm so glad I watched the game last night. Some cracking goals scored, and I would have been kicking myself if I'd given in to my wife and watched Silent Witness on catch-up tv instead. The only real disappointment was the low gate last night. I only wish I lived closer to Swansea, instead of being marooned in Hampshire, because I'd have gone along to the ground if I could have got there.
It's quite unbelievable really, a bigger turnaround than last season under Clement.
If I was to make one criticism it's that we appear to be two teams - one that is dominant at home, and one that is strangely defunct away, the last two games being a prime example. Lose to Brighton away 4-1 one week, beat West Ham 4-1 at home the next!

The scariest part of all this is that, with nine games to play, there are eight teams within two poor results of being knocked back into the relegation zone. Not even mid-table mediocrity is safe from the chop really. Scary because the Swans are still in that mix, but also good because it means plenty of other teams will be at risk (and under intense pressure) too. A couple of good results could put us up with Watford though, and I think if we'd got three more points on the board already then I'd begin to feel comfortable about the end of season run in...
...now if the board would kindly get us off this damned roller-coaster, I could concentrate on getting my blood pressure and heart rate down a bit!

Hard to believe how totally bad Swans have been over the run in.
We completely bottled it with the easiest run-in out of any of the teams in danger (Sheff Wed fans warned us this was a risk with Carlos). We put all our eggs in the Southampton basket and cocked it up.A shame as were down at Christmas and almost pulled it off but if we can't take a point a piece against Bournemouth and Southampton then we deserve to go down.
Compare and contrast to Huddersfield.
Walking the short distance from the O2 Forum, Kentish Town, to the underground station last night after a gig, and there was a mob of "youth" singing "♫ The Blues are going up and the Jacks are going down ♫" at high volume on an incessant loop. They didn't stop when they got on the Northern Line train to Waterloo either.
Still, Blossoms were great, as were their support bands, and my wife and I were in too good a music-induced mood to get down about the Swans relegation woes.
I'm old enough to remember the "bottle rocket" trajectory of Swansea under Toshack. So this has been a relatively long-term stay in the top league of English football. Sad really, as Carvalhal gets the chop without the opportunity to redeem himself, and the supporters trust are once again after Huw Jenkins' head on a silver platter.
"Come and coach our first team sir?" isn't likely to look like a great proposition for any potential manager to come fill that vacancy now. I suppose at least the core of the team might stay together. Given the way they've played on the run-in to the end of the season it's hardly likely that they're going to be at the top of any poaching shortlists from Premier League clubs...

The bin dippers are reverting to type, let's see how long they last this time. The players have relegation clauses, most of them will end up somewhere else. Jenkins, MM, Dineen and JvZ need to disappear for a while, the yanks need to step up or get out. WTF is Bayram Tutumlu wittering on about? 17 years without relegation up until now though.
