Be interested to know bow you get on with the 5eat.
It suited my jdm legacy but it certainly wasn’t a fun gearbox.

I had it in a 2.5 GT and thought it was fine in anything but intelligent mode

The A-line is "meant" to have a tuned gearbox going by some chat, but who knows if thats just marketing chat

I'll let you know how it feels in comparison

As expected, Intelligent is pretty poor. Fine for pottering around. Sport sharp was fine, decent response and good turn of speed that went against "I" mode. Such a difference changing modes.

Gearbox does seem a bit quicker than the same one in the Legacy, might be my head demons but Im sure its sharper.

Ive got a bit of road noise coming from it, seems louder than it should, tyres are all close to the limit so that's my first port of call.

Now here comes a treat.

Hawkeye Spec C Wagon.

Still on an EJ255 with the TD04, as I really liked the early spool. And with the new gearbox, it is even better. Everything else is stock.

Looks great with 17s at that ride height...a real shame there was no Hawkeye sti wagon...a TD04 on a 2.5 will be out of breath in no time, but will get there quickly biglaugh

Yep, given the amount of modification, the way the car "looks right" and still appears to be "just another wagon" is something I really love. I just have to be careful not to park it next to a regular WRX Wagon.

With the TD 04 and short gears, it out-accelerates EVs on the Autobahn. 😁

Hi Everyone

Showing my BRZ 2023 JDM import, which I took delivery of in February after ordering it last October.

It came with STi aero, STi v-bars and rear draw stiffener, and Fujitsubo exhaust. I have since added STi springs, Brembo brakes and HKS EL manifold and front pipe. It was recently dyno tuned to 252bhp by Abbey Motorsport.

That's nice. Always amazed me that Subaru made so many different versions of the EJ20 engines. You'd think it would be a lot more efficient just to build the standard EJ207. found in the STi for example and just change the turbo/mapping for different models. Rather than a different engine for the Impreza, different for the Legacy, different for the Forester etc. I know that they are all fundamentally the same block and architecture but there are so many internal part variations (and single scroll turbos, twin scroll, twin turbos) across the models and that's before you even start with the nom-JDM markets.
