Boys and Girls,

I am after some track day rubber. Ideally I want an ebay bargain, however, my tool of choice (BS RE070 - 225 45 17) seems somewhat thin on the ground.

If any of you are as bored as me right now, perhaps you could cast your eyes over this...

Thanks...

I know some people don't like second hand tyres, more so for fast use, but I do inspect them for nicks and dodgy bits

How many trackdays are you expecting to get from a worn set of boots? How much do you want to pay, and how much tread do you expect there to be for the money?

I'm sure you've already thought of getting to the track, doing the trackday and then getting back home on the same tyres. alternatively, maybe you have a spare set of rims to slip into your new worn boots.

I burnt most of the tread off my (brand new) RE070's in one day, then they went on to do 3 more track days. Clearly I learnt to drive properly hehe

I already have spare rims that I change to when I get there...

The spare rims are a great idea but where do you store your own wheels when you get there. Is there some sort of secure lockup for your rims?

I chain them up. There are always a few people I know around...

Had a quick look on eBay and a lot of the worn tyres you might put on the car are pretty ropey. Those with some meaningful tread are asking silly money. Not often you find a motoring bargain on eBay these days. Not a bad place to sell at a profit though.

ETA: Spotted these....

Cool - watching them now... Those RE070's would be sweet (they must have came on recently)...

Would be interesting to know what they are like when they wear down far enough to become real slicks hehe

I can tell you that - you spin with the slightest drop of rain hehe They are not designed to run as slicks, so its probably dangerous.

I have a set of Pirelli P Zero's in my garage that I would sell if your interested? Switched to winter tyres and going to be putting 18s on when they come off so no need for these anymore. They have 3-4mm left on them.
