05 Legacy and Mobil1?

The manual for my 2.5 legacy wagon says 5W-30 oil.

Will Mobil 1 0W-40 be OK/better/worse??

Dont really understand the numbers tbh but have 8 litres of Mobil 1 kicking around and seems a shame to waste it

Not the right stuff to use I'm afraid, the 0w bit means it is too thin when cold, the 40 bit would probably be ok, 5w30/5w40 or as some Impreza owners tend to use, a 10w40/10w50 would probably be fine.
