ND real world MPG

What MPG are people getting out of their 1.5 and 2.0 ND's.

If I get one it could potentially be doing 20k+ miles a year. I have seen a few reports that the 1.5 and 2.0 are almost identical about 40 mpg?

Obvs will depend on how you drive it, etc, etc my OBC says 41mpg on my 2.0. Hasn't done many miles (2200) on mainly longer trips including a fair amount of motorways. I guess it shouldn't drop much below mid 30's even on spirited B road drives.

I'm getting about 42mpg from my 2.0. Combination of half motorway and half urban.

London to Exeter and back last week at a steady pace and with traffic around Stonehenge on the way back and averaged 52.3mpg

That's insanely good. My daily driver Focus 1.5 ecoboost gets nowhere near that - usually an indicated 38-39 on mixed driving.

Perhaps I can persuade my OH that I should trade in that and my NC for an ND as its more economical...

Those figures do sound good, any "small block" 1.5's care to share their figures?

I now pretty much have my heart set on the 1.5 as those kind of zingier engines appeal to me.

If you're going to live in a car for 20k miles, you gotta make that time as fun as possible. MX-5 will be hard to beat for the combination of fun, reliability, frugality. But I'm only using an NC 2.0 Sport 300 miles a week @ 39mpg.

The 1.5 is a better big mileage car, way way comfier on the ride front the Bilstein'd 2.0L. 1.5 is silly eco in daily use 45+ is easy & you can get them into 70's if you really try. Even flat out on track its hard to get one into the teens!

I have put my order in for a blue reflex 1.5, arrives in August, can't wait!.

After trying both engines the 1.5 appealed to me more. It felt a bit more special, though the torque of the 2.0 did feel quite impressive.

I will report back with my own findings on mpg.

I have a 2.0 SE-L Nav arriving in August and the wait is driving me mad !

Only the 2.0 Sport comes with the Bilsteins so I found the ride very nice. Had to be 2.0 for me even though the 1.5 is great.

Perhaps our cars will be boat buddies on the trip over from Japan! What colour did you go for? I went for Blue reflex.

I have a 2.0 Manual GT RF. I do a daily 75km round trip which is a combination of 20% traffic and 85% 80-100kph roads. I'm getting 6.5l/100km, 43mpg(Imperial), 36mpg(US).

They run on the smell of an oily rag.
