Can't see another Subaru on the cards. Probably a Gen F HSV Clubsport wagon -
up to 2014 it's 340kW/455bhp engine was available with a 6-sp manual box. Otherwise, if I think I can cope with a saloon, then an HSV GTS would be nice... In hindsight, I should have bought one of the last manual ones (MY2012) and hand it mapped to the 400 plus bhp they seem to achieve fairly easily.
I did look at the old manual RS4, but they seemed to have a few too many problems.

I replaced my MY03 Spec C limited with a Peugeot RCZ R, I usually run 2 cars anyway so the Spec C was a weekend toy as is the RCZ R.It was a seriously hard choice to make and not one that I have regretted, to start with, the R is excellent in the wet (and dry), its actually more capable than the Spec C but lacks a little bit of the steering feel and 400cc's (and about 46bhp), but its more comfy, has lots of toys as standard like xenon's, climate, sat nav, HUGE 380mm Alcon brakes (which are far more responsive than the brembo's were but a little more expensive to replace...).
Performance is on par with the Spec C (if not a little better), its slightly laggier and needs to be worked a little harder than the EJ20 though (it does like to be revved and has no problems doing so )
The Pug also saves me a fortune in V power (it will run 95 ron but she's been run on V power since 4 miles on the clock), servicing is cheaper, I can sit at 90mph on the motorway (Autobahn) and still push nearly 40mpg the Spec C averaged about 27-28mpg at 75mph and I had to plan fuel stops every 100ish miles!
I do miss the fact that the Spec C was just an awesome bit of kit out of the box and had more tuning potential than the RCZ R, though the R really doesn't need to be tuned as its a great A-B car
A DB9 would be a choice if you wanted a nice V8, but the servicing can be pretty brutal, even worse than going for a cambelt change at a Subaru main dealers
The final edition WRX STI has finally been announced. https://www.subaru.co.uk/performance/wrx-sti
That's that then. I wonder how long ICE-only performance cars with a manual box will be produced?

If they are going 18 inch on the wheels then I would have expected them to up the size of the brake disc from 330mm to 355mm, but if they are sticking to 330 (13 inch) instead of 355 (14 inch) and just adding 6 pots... hmmmm, seems a waste to me (note my 380mm standard discs and 4 pot Alcons are standard on my measly 1.6ltr car but they are not cheap to replace).
Could this be Subaru doing things by half again??

The wheels are 19'' magnesium alloy, no brochure so I'm not sure on the disc size.
I've just had a phone call from the dealer to confirm my car. It's a good job I put a deposit down as apparently they're all sold already.
Edited to add: just looked up the brake sizes: 13.4'' front, 12.8'' rear.

I'm sure cost is part of the equation too but maybe they did some rotational inertia calculations and decided going any larger wasn't worth it?Could this be Subaru doing things by half again??

I was just thinking that the brakes on the RA-R were like 355 or 356mm with 6 pot front and 4 pot rears, if that worked well then why only 340mm? (Though Subaru did charge silly money for standard 330mm brembos so god knows how much they would want for larger discs).
