They are already finding their way across to the US.

The Americans can get them in under the show and display (or something?) rule as a rare car already (same as a midnight purple 2 R34 GTR)

One problem with the yanks buying them is they sell in Japan now for a lot of money, people see that here and then they fly up because we can no longer import them for decent money. Trouble is I don’t see them selling that well here for big money? It’s like we can’t buy them at source so they’re now worth loads more but nobody here wants to pay it.

Mind you, that seems the same for a lot of the Jap stuff the yanks are crazy for. Expensive in Japan now means the UK market thinks it can sustain big prices but I just see the same big money imprezas/evos/GTR’s/RX7’s relisted for sale over and over again.

I’d actually think the US buyer would be better off buying from the U.K. as they’d probably be more likely to get a deal than Japan.

Even the old Pulsar GTI-r is crazy money in Japan now because the Americans buy them.

Spotted this on Insta, can’t recall the wood finish being particularly popular on 22B ??

I saw that too. It’s probably some Japanese aftermarket bit. They have a few oddities

Is it the same one from earlier this year?

the seller was in one of the Subaru groups on facebook saying he had offers of £250-260k months ago so cant believe he didnt sell then. Guess this is the new owner tying to make a quick buck?

It's at Appreciating Classics. There's one going through the auctions tonight. Number 200, 31k miles, grade 4B. Expected to fetch 15m yen/£109k?

Getting further and further out of my reach frown
On the €295k one, I suppose it’s a case of find another. It’s pretty incomparable.

I bought a brand new WRX in 2004 for £20k. At the time the dealer had a 22b for sale for £22k. Still got the WRX , probably worth £4k if I’m lucky.

Appreciating classic's one sold recently, but i'd be interested to know if they actually got the £295,000 they were asking for it. Number 84/400 is now up for sale for £170,000 with 23k miles on the clock.

Nope. It happens to have 22B in the middle of an otherwise worthless plate with illegal spacing.

Not seeing the value at all.

Looks fairly tidy and mods look well done, though API don’t have the best reputation anymore.
But it is heavily modified. If I was wanging £100k on a 22B I’d want it to be a 22B to drive. And with significant engine mods and not standard suspension or brakes (though upgraded brakes I’m ok with) it’s not likely to feel like a 22B so I’m out
