Yep, my 2001 blob eye JDM STi had projectors too so doesn’t make sense that these are conventional reflectors and I think you’re right, Tecknopug, that is why the lights don’t illuminate properly: Might be best to keep the bulbs and replace the units! biggrin

Bulbs are different between reflector and projector Lights. D2S and D2R.

I've just bought some Blobeye JDM HID headlights, so once I have them installed I'll be able to compare the reflectors vs the projectors on my Bugeye.

I've received my Blobeye JDM HID headlights. Just awaiting the wiring loom to clear customs.

I've discovered though that whereas I fitted OSRAM XENARC NIGHT BREAKER UNLIMITED D2S bulbs to my Bugeye, there is not an equivalent bulb in D2R flavour. I can only get OSRAM XENARC ORIGINAL in a D2R bulb. So won't be able to compare Projectors to Reflectors with any accuracy.

HID or non HID being an import?

Both mine are HID equipped - plenty of options for upgrading.
on the SG4 (?) 'UK' Supplied Foresters came with the housings for HID lights, they just never fitted the HID's and gave us st bulbs instead.

Ive fitted aftermarket HID's to mine and bar it just needing aligning, it passes the MOT. though even with HIDs in mine, distance illumination is still shocking.

Has anyone looked into LED's?
