Well, after much deliberation I have pulled the trigger to import one of these beauties from Japan yesterday via Ryan at Club Japan Imports. I’ll post some pictures up over the next few days and am already counting down to arrival in late July or early August.

It’s an 06 in grey with 73k on the clock, grade 3.5.

My JDM Impreza WRX Auto will be going up for sale on Sunday.

Lovely! I was tempted to do that myself but couldn’t wait the 3 months! Ended up sourcing a local 06 STI in Black with just under 80k. UK 2.5 but forged and mapped by Duncan to 340 so I’m very happy! Only had it 2 weeks and now I’m on holiday itching to get back and drive it. You have much planned for it?

Get the basics done first (underseal, fluid changes, cambelt if needed), then planning to accent it in red with various bits and pieces, including getting the wheels powder coated.

A map will be on the cards next year hopefully; would be happy with figures like yours.

Looks good! Plans sound good too. I’m one for more subtle mods so not sure how the Red will turn out but interested to see. Look forward to seeing more pics when it arrives.

Alcantara and leather; standard on the a-line but an upgrade on a normal sti seat.

Drivers seat replaced with a recaro of similar colouring

The wait.......it seems to take forever.....but eventually it's well worth it! I'm currently in the same situation but hopefully able to finally drive my Spec C next week after it arriving early May (had full service work incl belts, mapping and then a few DVLA set backs!)

A word of advice, if you don't plan to use it through winter so much it may be worth getting the underbody washed and clear sealed rather than black underseal, I've had great results on my previously imported RA, it just looks so much cleaner without hiding anything which further down the line could be beneficial.

Haha yes thanks, my trusted garage have it now for a few days to do some bits and pieces then MOT it. Had a nice 25 mile drive there though smile

Engine is super sweet with no vibration at all; it purrs lol. And boy does it pull well when you open it up.

Um... you drove 25 miles with no Mot or Tax? Is it insured on the VIN number or something?

I recognise both that yard AND that petrol station!!

Except mine never moved under its own steam away from the pump. How did you get on?
