Radiator a/c fan query 04 sti

As there are 2 fans can anyone tell me which one does what? Are they both radiator AND A/C or is one controlled by water temp and the other a/c only?

From what i’m aware , until i’m corrected , both fans help cooling, the left fan as you look from the front of the car is ac too , not worth taking a risk replace what is busted you may be able to get one fan by a different supplier but probably better just replacing it as one unit , same as an forester xt ?

Fans are activated by a combination of vehicle speed, coolant temp and A/C compressor. The can run as both off, fan 1 on, fan 2 on or both on.

You're going to want both working, really.

Mine is rattling and making some odd noises as well. Are they still available new?.

Yes but they're £400 each!
