Hi all,

I think this might be one for a Subaru-specific forum but since I'm already signed up on PH and know there are some v. knowledgeable people about I'll try here first.

The passenger side indicators on my 2005 Outback 3.0 are playing silly buggers. Every now and again when either locking or unlocking via the key fob all three passenger side indicators stay on. Usually locking and unlocking the car a few times sorts it, but a few times recently it has taken ages to do so and it's getting annoying. If I try to use the LH indicator when this happens then they stay on and I get a double-speed clicking sound.

They never seem to stick on while actually using the LH indicators during driving though. Internet research hasn't thrown up anybody whose had this exact problem on a similar vintage Outback before, but from other who have had a similar problem on other Subarus (i.e. Foresters), I suspect it may be down to a duff relay in the alarm control unit.

My questions are:

1. Does it sound feasible that the alarm control unit is at fault?
2. If so, can anybody tell me where I would find it on a 2005 Outback?

To start with I'll just unplug it altogether and see if that works - I'd rather not have an alarm anyway (I don't even lock the car 90% of the time!). If that doesn't work I'll source a replacement.

Cheers,
Rog
