Bought this back in July - My pride and joy, a 2018 MX-5ND2.

Not thinking too seriously about mods, but curious to know how others might mod it.....?
It does have a "Stubby" aerial now though..!

Wider wheels and lowered on coilovers.

There’s an ND online with RPF1 wheels and looks awesome.

Personally I’d leave it, looks fantastic in that colour.

IMHO the best mod is a nice sounding exhaust, it makes every single drive so much more fun.

I’d get a decent set of springs fitted as wheel gaps are gopping.

Get it down to Pro-tect and get it wax-filled and undercoated. You won't regret it. Good lads, too. I did this at the beginning of summer as I plan to keep mine for a few years...

I love that neons are making a bit of a comeback. Your reg plate had me looking. M1 ATA is currently on a Mazda... 2. A shame.

Tingewick was literally in my back yard before moving to North Nottinghamshire - They will be in Tier 4 at the moment due to bloody covid...!

Rough idea of cost and how long it takes?

We were planning on taking ours to Roddison Motorsport for a few bits and bobs in the new year. Even got as far as speaking with Paul on the phone and hoped to arrange a date in Jan.

These new Tier 4 restrictions have messed all that up...for now!!

By all accounts a few sensible tweaks can really bring the car alive, it'd be rude not to tbh.

£750ish. I left it with them first thing Monday and they were finished late Wednesday.

Well worth it, I thought.

The car stank for a few days afterwards, so I knew it was done right! Plus, it was good to get the car up on the ramps and have a good poke around it before they got started...

Paul did a remap on my 2017 2ltr ND and not only is it very, very good vfm , it transforms the engine into something much happier to rev ,and with useful additional poke . Lowered springs made the biggest difference to mine , removing that awful , tippy toe, roly poly feeling . Roddisons also set up my suspension - another very affordable job but transformative. I binned the mediocre Bridgestones as soon as I could and Michelin PS 4s are night and day better, especially in the wet .

It is odd how the standard offering is ok , but , tbh is nothing special . My total outlay of 2.5 k made a big difference , and turns the car into what I had expected in the first place

Depends whether the owner prioritises actual drivability on British roads or aesthetics.

You could potentially tick both boxes, but springs alone won't achieve that, imo.

They will go a long way in combination with the associated geo alignment. Car ride height set up for safety standards, not handling.

My nc was transformed following, our Nd needed it doing.

Who cares ? For most grown ups , lowering springs is only worth doing if it improves how a car drives. It does on the ND. But having seen various ...err JDM icons .. with noses about 5 mill off the ground I do wonder if driveability is ever even considered or is it just cred in the multiplex car park ?

It was your post in a previous thread that made me call tbh. Thanks for the info.

Going down the same route. All about timing now. We're totally locked down here now, grrrrrrr!!

Many cars are designed, but then lifted to meet all safety global standards.

New Mustang and M/x5 both cases in point. Mazda and Ford both sell their own springs to correct the ride height.
