They sent a recovery ship round to the other side of Florida (Tampa) in case the Dragon had to abort and land in the Gulf of Mexico.
After the splashdown debacle on demo mission 2, they’ll now have a 10 mile exclusion zone around the splashdown area with extra Coast Guard ships to police it.

One "first" from last night's launch is that it is the largest crew ever to be launched in a "capsule" style spacecraft. The Shuttle, of course, normally carried a crew of seven but up to now, the maximum number of persons capable of being carried in a capsule was three (Voshkod 2, Soyuz and Apollo).
Just watched it back. Amazingly smooth all the way.
I am always impressed when you see 3 minutes in and they are over 100km up. So many technical aspects to really master and yet the launch, tower disconnect, stage seperations and booster catch just seem so predictably reliable now.
Long may that continue.
Great launch.
NASA has submitted a draft agreement for government approval that would allow Russian cosmonauts to begin flying to the International Space Station on U.S. crew capsules next year in a no-funds exchanged arrangement with Russia’s space agency.
In return, Russia will continue launching U.S. and international astronauts on Soyuz missions.

Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi has joined an exclusive group of just 3 men who have travelled into space in 3 different vehicles. Space Shuttle Atlantis, Soyuz and now Dragon. He'll be the only one to have done so to the ISS.
The other two were:
Wally Schirra - Mercury 8, Gemini 6a, and Apollo 7
John Young - two Gemini (3 & 10), two Apollo (10 & 16), and two space shuttle (STS-1 & STS-9, which were on the same orbiter - Columbia).
