They dropped the fairing! But it landed intact in the water.
On a parachute or plummeting in from a height?

Looks like it did the job. I expect it getting a bit wet isn't the end of the world.

Sunday’s Falcon 9 launch has been postponed:

“Standing down from this weekend's launch attempt to conduct additional testing on the fairing’s pressurization system. Once complete, and pending range availability, we will confirm a new targeted launch date.“ - SpaceX

This will be the 4th Falcon 9 launch of the year (and the 50th over all !).

It’ll be carrying the Hipasat communications satellite, which is a heafty 6 tonnes.

They’re still going to try to recover the first stage and the landing ship has left port already.

There's also an Atlas Launch from SLC41 at Noon (UK time) on Thurs 1st March, according to the website.

Yes, which is why the Falcon 9 won’t be going anywhere now until the Atlas 5 has launched.

I think the launches of some of the Gemini missions and their target Agena vehicles had pretty narrow time gaps.

Back in September 1967 they launched a Delta G rocket (Biosat 2) and an Atlas-Centaur rocket (Surveyor 5 lunar lander) 10 hours apart.

Thursday's Atlas V mission profile:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Auwwc9BLXE&fe...

It's in the 541 configuration, so a 5.4 m fairing, 4 solid boosters and 1 engine on the Centaur upper stage.

GOES-S is a weather satellite for NOAA & NASA. It's designed for a 15 year life, but the first 5 will be as back up for its predecessor.

The Atlas V has been wheeled out to the pad now. The weather over there is looking good - 80% chance of a "go".

Target time is 22:02 UK time (5:02 PM local)

It's 197 feet tall - 33 feet shorter than a Falcon 9 (with fairings).
