There are not many people that I admire but Chris Hadfield is one of them. A great man who has a wonderful charm about him and is such an inspiration to all.

Here he is describing going blind in space but also explaining the fear and reality of space travel.

My own personal channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4NGnJ7yWNM8RiSGc...

I'm a one man band and it's a work in progress, but constructive criticism welcome. Also, my editing skills are bad.

In the old days it was Open University lectures on BBC2 during a Saturday morning, competing with Mary Mungo and Midge on BBC1.

Here is a classic episode

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkmFgNUWA4A

It gets double points ( approximated ) for being dull then and dull now on youtube. Triple points for a BBC Micro.

People used to make fun of them, before science and maths got sexy with Sir Patrick Moore and that young bloke who can't grown a beard.

Patrick Moore was hosting space and astronomy programmes on BBC TV and radio for quite a few years before the OU even started.

One of my favourite OU programmes is on the geology of the moon - presented by geologist/astronaut Harrison Schmitt.

That was good - although the background music was very typical of its time.
