Space Station Spotting

You do need a full 360 to get the best effect, as in 360 degrees all the way around and up and down as well.
This would usually be done by stitching together 4 or 5 wide angle shots. I wouldn't have thought a phone camera would be wide angle enough in the vertical direction.
Do you have a 180 you've taken you can post here and I'll tell you if I think it's possible?

Thanks Freddie, I don't have currently but I'll get one taken and post it up for you to comment on.
Actually, don't worry about the built-in panorama function. I've looked at the camera spec and it's probably good enough to make a 'proper' panorama with.If you can take the photos and send the originals to me (I'll give you an email address via PM) then I'll make a pano of your garden you can use in Stellarium.
I'm interested to see how easy it is to do it without the proper equipment so happy to use you as a guinea pig if you're up for it!
I'll explain here how to take the photos if you want to give it a go.

I watched it from 84 degrees at 6:09. It appeared from opposite than I expected, was heading towards 84 not from. But still saw it despite. It then disappeared half way across, don't know why.
I think you maybe getting confused? The elevation was 84 degrees from the horizon which has nothing to do with it's direction. As Eric says the direction is always West to east - the elevation is how high up it passes over you. It's always between 0 and 90 degrees.

It always appears in the western sky - because it's travelling around the earth from west to east.
On the second pass tonight it was eclipsed by the earth's shadow as it passed almost directly overhead.
Ah, many thanks for the replies. Only just seen them. That explains why it disappeared. It did come from the West. I expected it to come from 84 degrees on the compasss, East. Didnt realise it was elevation. Every day is a school day! Thanks. On the second pass tonight it was eclipsed by the earth's shadow as it passed almost directly overhead.
