I need to get my clio up on axle stands, wheels are in for a refurb shortly.

In the past ive used the trolley jack on the sill jacking points and popped in axle stand as close as i can get it to the reinforced area. Sill looks like its bent very slightly where it's rested though, so I guess I'm doing this wrong.

I assume the sill jacking points are the best area to put the axle stands, though the name would suggest otherwise... I've seen tyre fitters lifting the rear from the back axle, just under the springs and it looks sturdy enough under there to do it one side at a time, but where should i be lifting from the front?

Any advice appreciated!

I'd go for where the lower wishbone mounts the the chassis, there's normally a part of it that will sit nicely on a stand.

You'll be very lucky to do this without a high-lift trolley jack, TBH.

Axle stands are less than ideal under sills as they are cupped and will either damage the sill, or slip out too easily. They are intended to go under suspension mounting points or axles.

Jack under rear wishbone mount, axle stand on chassis rail. Same for pretty much every car. Never used the sills with a trolley jack or axle stands, they just bend.
