Halfords Socket Set
Discussion
At the moment I have the 60pcs set & it has done me okay, usually work I do I do at a friends garage so what I don't have he does, however I am relocating for a period of time & was thinking of investing in the 200pcs set at £175 (plus a bit off with trade card) to do the bits to the car I need to.
At this price is it good value for money or at this price should I be looking at other brands/sets?
Also need to get a good set of axle stands & trolley Jack if anybody could recommend any?

The 200 piece set looks fairly comprehensive, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are other things you'd come across needing. However I'm sure it makes a good starting point. I have plenty of Halfords tools and they have seen a fair bit of work with no issues. If it is one of their advanced sets, you also get the benefit of their warranty.
I have a Halfords jack, but more recently bought a jack from SGS Engineering. I'd say it is better than the Halfords one, but it was more expensive.
I use Halfords axle stands, and have no issues.

I've got a load of the Halfords Advanced stuff and can't fault it for DIY spannering.
I've also had one of these jacks for 2yrs and used it quite a bit, totally reliable and great value for money.
