Bubble balancers
Discussion
Anyone here used one (I mean actually used or own one and can give an honest opinion, not Googled for answers which I can do myself). They seem more popular in the 'States but they don't often drive as fast as us so might not get much wobble at speed.
I tend to fit my own tyres and I'm thinking about getting one for the final step that usually involves spending money.

It's been a long time since I had a wheel balanced. 20 years or more. Back in the old rwd days of Capris, Marinas, Mk 1 and 2 Escorts etc cars were very susceptible to balance induced steering wheel vibration problems because of the front wheel bearing design which required some free play. Modern cars with 200 ft lb hub nuts don't seem to suffer from vibration. My mate fits all my tyres as he does for various family and friends of his and I don't recall a balance issue on any of our cars.
