Wiper motors Seat Altea

Had to replace the nearside wiper motor . As previous owner had Welded arm to the spline to get away with paying for a new motor. I got the motor fitted and working . But now the offside is not working. I understand it`s a master and slave setup with a trigger cable.. Where do I go from here. Do they need vagcom to reprogram them or are they just not compatible. Can a crossover cable be fitted
