Was driving out of my driveway, heard loud noise, came home, found this on the floor. Any idea what this is that appears to have snapped

Thanks for quick replies, is car still ok to use, and is it a cheap/expensive fix ? Its from a 2009 suzuki swift

No, next thing that'll happen is the spring will break completely, suspension will collapse & tyre will be punctured.

(Well, that's what happened to my Suzuki SX4...twice!)

Just driven home, wasn't far. My local garage is only five minutes away, so will get it checked over in morning

Good luck. If you are planning to keep the car for a while I'd get them to do both sides.
