I am looking for a new jack. My old basic Draper will not fit under my BMW 335i. I think another 2 ton jack would be more than beefy enough?

I am tired of having to park it on blocks or drive it up caravan levelling ramps. It needs to have a low profile/clearance height, and also lift a bit higher than my current 320mm - the higher the better.

At the same time, I’d still like to have something I can carry from my shed to my car parking space and maybe even stick in the boot and take to a friends house - so I probably don’t want a 30-40kg workshop jack.

Anyone got any recommendations? Thanks!

Costco do a good Alcan ally jack which fits comfortably under Caterhams, Lotus Elises, a few single seaters and my335i, it is very light.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Does the Arcan fit under the front of your 335? In an ideal world I’d be able to reach straight under the front centre jacking point without messing around with bits of wood or ramps.

I have decided (I think) to get a slight heavier duty one that will be less portable and a bit bigger and heavier - harder to move from the shed, but should lift higher and rise with fewer pumps, loaded/unloaded. Now got to determine which...
