Anybody else had problems dealing with Autodoc?

DHL gets hammered on Trustpilot for mostly never delivering but sending confirmation the parcel has been delivered.
I hear (mostly on PH) such comments about pretty much all of the mainstream couriers, but have come to the conclusion that the issues must be localised due to certain offices or actual driver's attitudes.
I say this because I have lived in several areas over the years in Leeds/Hull/York/Skipton & all have been excellent apart from one delivery (can't remember the courier) who delivered an item (it happens it was from Autodoc) and they just threw it over the fence where it fell behind a shed completely out of sight.
used them a fair bit and reasonably happy , i do try and check the part number with other sites and once ordered premium filters and they switched them to own brand but i caught it before dispatch and now should have a note on my account that i only want what i ordered and no alternatives
sometimes they will have almost dozens of brands vs only cheapie stuff in uk and it can be way cheaper
also handy for robbing part numbers for your favourite brand then trying uk ebay and amazon incase its a better deal

We all love a negative story online however I'm in the "do not use" camp having ordered a very specific pair of KYB rear shock absorbers for a Volvo XC70, very specific as the KYB's were the only one listed in the correct, extended length for the raised ride height of said XC70. What arrived were a pair of Sachs shocks with no prior notice or warning of their random decision to change. I pointed this out and pointed out that said Sachs were a shorter rod thus no good and was basically told I was wrong so tough. I then asked if they could provide the proof that said Sachs were fit for purpose. They couldn't. They then suggested I send them back at my cost and once received, they'd be inspected and refund may be considered minus the shipping costs etc etc. I suggested they reconsider as what I order and what I received was totally different and wrong. After about 9 weeks of battling, they accepted them back for a full refund.
Far to much hassle... I'd rather pay the extra and buy over the counter from my local factor who get it right 99% of the time, can have any part in your hand within 24hrs and if there's an issue, there's absolutely no issues with warranty claims, refunds or replacements.
