The Red Lodge Café on the A11, between Newmarket and Barton Mills used to be great and was always open for 24hours. I haven't been there for about 10 years, but it was good value and a perfect place for breakfast after an all-night party. My shirt appeared on a BBC documentary about the café (They were filming from inside the kitchen and caught me picking up a breakfast through the hatch).

I hope it's still there. Many good and sometimes surreal memories.

aswell as the previously mentioned, i'd say the truckstop in heywood dist park is very good, secure parking, good clean hot showers and decent food for a fair price.
the caffs on the a41, near whitchurch are pretty good, by the pub, (the raven i think.)
orwell truckstop on the a14, between ipswich and felixstowe, is prob about as good as it gets in the uk, up there with the best autohofs in germany.
junction 29 truckstop on the m1 at chesterfield is also pretty bloody good.
the caff/truckstop at waltham abbey, j26 of the m25 is also very good now smile
south mimms and rugby still ok aswell if you need parking, shower and food.
silveys, just off of j16, (i think) of the m4, another good truckstop.

2 miles south of Whitchurch at the junction of the A41 and A49 there are 2 equally good places, apart from the fact that they don't open early enough for me. I used to pass at 6.00 am.

Truckstop at Farlington Services, off the M27 is a good meal. Just hidden behind the Peugeot/Mazda/Fiat garages, but signed well, breakfast there is heavenly!

The Red lion is always being re-built. Currently the new Ladies is temporarily the Gents as the new Gents is unfinished.

For monster portions, huge showers and cheap beer, Lincoln Farm is off the A452, about 5 minutes from J6 M42 : http://goo.gl/maps/i4L6

Theres a cafe in Great Yarmouth called Jesters. Here they sell a breakfast larger than any meal Ive ever seen before.

Its called something similar to the 'The Small Kid', with the inference being that they both weigh about the same!

The price is £15 but I believe that its free if you can eat it all...

Happenden Services - J11/12 M74

Don't go into the services building itself - at the end of the truck park is a decent buttie van.

The 'Half Moon Cafe' at Half Moon Village, Devon, just before you get to Newton St Cyres on the A377 Exeter-Crediton road.

It's on a large lay-by so room for several artics.

The biggest breakfast when you include the extras like mushrooms, hash browns and black pudding is around £6.50, which includes two mugs of coffee/tea.

It's one of nicest fry-ups I've eaten and the pork and eggs are locally sourced.

Agreed. Good place to have a break.

Another one local to me, is "the owl". It's on the Cornwall bound side of the A30, just before Tedburn st mary. Good grub, good craic, good value. The only problem with it, is it is over a fence at the side of a not very large layby, you can't always park, and have to drive past.

I remember there being a truckers 'caff' just off the M25 at J26 (Waltham Abbey) last time I went there (about 2 yrs ago) they had recently built a shower/toilet block as well.

Used to stop off on my tacho breaks and have a full english - was always really nice and pretty cheap.
