Hmmmmm, if the bloke who won the engine turns out to be a pillock I could bin the power steering and put a supercharger in its place.
That should make the Banana engine split.

Do it, it sounds like a mental idea biggrin

How cool is this? Might break the budget though, Price:£2189.37 (Each)

Seems cheap compared to price of non-folding one!

Pillock on eBay? Really? Wanted the whole van delivered for the price of the engine and gearbox? That sort of Moon on a stick Muppet isn't allowed on eBay any more.

So I have an engine gearbox and twin axle for sale £250 for the lot. COLLECTION ONLY!

I could always do something like this...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-trike-/221222117151...

...with it instead. scratchchin

This;

Not so much an actual Barkas, but the idea of a FWD van chopped up to make a flatbed/beavertail.

So last night I was left pondering, do I try to remove the gear selector or cut a hole in the floor?

Not the most difficult decision I've ever had to make.

She's out...

...split the non-MT75 (worthless) gearbox...

...and crated up the engine ready for sale.

Now the fun begins. I have a trailer and a petrol disc cutter to get what's left to the weighbridge.

Disposal of the chassis and cab today. Some scrap collectors took the doors out of the trailer whilst I was having a coffee and phone call. Grrrr! furious

So I took my temper out with the cutter and in no time at all made a Transit Cabriolet. wink

I wonder if anyone from Crayford reads these threads.

Within moments of having a convertible on in my garden the British Summer stepped in.

Having been hit by several hale stones the size of Guinness widgets I decided to have breakfast (night shift tonight so lunch for you norms) and the van was on the weighbridge by half three.

It didn't take a lot of cutting as the amount of rust meant it mostly crumbled. The first load made £46.02 and the second load is ready to go first thing tomorrow afternoon (so long as it doesn't get nicked). The axle took three of use to lift and is sat on top of the pile so if they can take it they will be noticed.

Hmmmm, I might need to clean my shotguns in the morning.

Thanks. I was bitterly disappointed but relieved I hadn't put too much into it before discovering it was a pile of bodged crap.

Hi, sorry if is off topic, do you know please if I can fit a recovery aluminium bed on a platform cab? I bought a Renault Master 2017 LWB with Luton box in the back(I think they called), looks a bit low chassis and I don’t know if I could make it higher.
Thanks

The basis will be a platform cab; you can build what you like on top of it, but the payload(~1800kg) isn't very big so whatever you build needs to be very light if you want to carry very much.

That looks nice.

They do bolt on beds for those so as above. smile

I wouldn't make it higher as it could limit the vehicles you can transport. Keep the sleeper box on the top of the cab as you could use it to store tools, beer and other essentials. biggrin

I've got an AMS bed on the same base, Ali & as light as most & about as light as you will get unless you go the kfs route of a separate rear chassis in Ali replacing the factory steel, I've also got a prg cover on mine too.

Are lots of options of manufacturers if you type in recovery body on eBay.

Iguana, I try to find a phone number on AMS website but they have only email. Can you please help me with a number?
Also, if the car is lightly damage in the back, if it needs little repair I can do with them?
Many thanks.
