Slightly off topic and over budget, but pretty unique.

Have you considered a VW Syncro van?

Put a bed in the back and a decent sized trailer behind it?

I know, saw it last thing last night in the classifieds. Woke up this morning to a "You know you want to" about it.
£28k though! Seems a bit steep compared to my idea to bolt a caravan to the chassis.

Before you go bolting a 7ft high caravan body to a 4ft high truck chassis ask yourself why curtainsider drivers tie their curtains back on windy days

Dual purpose 4x4 vehicles are exempt from O licencing, even if you wanted to tow a caravan you shouldn't need one as hire or reward means transportation of other people's goods ie haulage or courier , not plumber or builder etc.

I don't know about tachos and caravans , a trailer definitely needs one once the combination exceeds 3.5t
A 2t land rover towing a 1t caravan doesn't need anything other than a trailer entitlement if you took your test after 97

, I very much doubt travellers have tachos so just paint gutters replaced, trees hacked down on the side , its like a cloak of invisibility as far as the authorities are concerned

The cheapest option will always be a discovery towing a caravan , even normal AA breakdown covers that
