Is anyone getting any deals on new factory builds? I'm in no rush at the moment so I don't mind a wait. I just can't justify spending more than £50k on something that was £32k a couple of years back, especially as the new Custom is due next year.

Transporters start at a smidge under £35k inc. VAT.

Madness!

Was ready to go ahead with a Custom Sport with pretty much every option ticked a couple of years back, with all the discounts the dealer was throwing at it it came out at £32k. List price for an entry level Custom is £33k now.

If only I knew then what I know now...

Mines was taken years ago never bothered to replace it just have a spare in the back.

Think it’s not cheap to replace the mechanism unsurprising I got a wheel and tyre brand new of eBay.

Just in case anyone has similar looks like the auxiliary drive belt tensioner is the issue.

Turned out the tensioner wasn’t the issue was actually worse after changing it!

Issue(and apparently common on the 2.0) was a seized alternator pulley. Friend works at a factor so ended up changing the whole alternator as it was only about £60 more than a pulley and the mechanic thought it need a special tool to remove.

All good now.
