Nice and comfortable, quiet engine. Not as well put together as the Custom though IMO.

I had a Renault Trafic 115 as a courtesy van while my 125 custom limited was being repaired.

It was much worse in every way. The engine was gutless, the gearing seemed very short, plastics were cheap. It all felt like it was on the verge of breaking.

Not with your barge pole.

Have a look at the new Dispatch/Expert. They have excellent reviews.

Rob,

If your thinking this for your long haul on the Taxi job, step away from the 1.6 Vivaro.

The Transit Custom is great, the Euro 6 engine is superb, however the Adblue system is having all sorts of faults. The old 2.2 Tdci 155ps (they are all the same, just a remap, which can be up to 200hp), and the Puma oil pump recall is all bar done on them.

They drive the best I believe out of the vans on the markets, the Limited DCIV is a stunner. I sell all marques for a living, so happy to help in a decision.

I had a Master then two Trafics, the second being the new 120 Bi Turbo. I've now got a 170 Custom Sport but I think I preferred the Trafic. I never had a single problem with any of the Renaults, the Ford has had numerous minor issues that simple shouldn't be present, especially considering how many years Ford have been making vans, they aren't exactly new to the game. I preferred the gearbox in the Trafic, the engine was quieter and it didn't bounce down the road like the Custom. I doubt I'll get another one, but I'd buy another Trafic/Vivaro.

We've ran a Biturbo for approaching 75k in two years and considering its always loaded up to the roof with engineering stuff and chemicals, and its only a 1.6 litre it's brilliant . Only 35 mpg but we thrape it all the time and we even had to top it up with a litre of oil for the first time last week.

Because its heavily loaded, and tows a very heavy trailer at times, Front tyres last 40k whilst the rears are still original with lots of tread left. Very comfortable, reasonably quiet but needs the turbos spinning or its not going anywhere. Servicing is every 20k and its cheap.

We will be getting another when this one is put out to pasture but I can see it doing 200k at this rate.

Highly recommended. Its a Vauxhall but the windows say Renault..........

Cheers,

Tony
